It's about time we talk about threaded conversations in iMessage

So I've recently started how big of an inconvenience the interface is with voiceover at least when we scroll through threaded conversations in iMessage where we reply to messages.
The interface is the most confusing ever, we have both x reply button where a thread is isolated, but at the same time as we scroll in the regular view we have the quoted message before our reply, even then it's very hard to reread such threads in order and understand who replied to what when and in which order. It's much more intuitive on basically every other chat app, from instagram to messenger and discord, and obviously IMO the best being whatsapp.
Am I alone to not understand this or there is a logic I haven't gotten used to yet?
