Hello, it has come to my attention that my Apple health app on my iPhone 13 mini is not working properly. When I open the health app and try to check how many steps I did, it doesn’t show up. Even when I ask Siri how many steps did I take today, Siri response, I couldn’t find any steps data today in the health app. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I can't say for sure that…
I can't say for sure that this is what's up, but I'm not sure how much step tracking happens without an Apple Watch. Are you using one? Was it working for you before? Perhaps you have made changes to some setting recently that has had unforseen effects? Just a few thoughts.
I have never
No, I do not have an Apple Watch nor have I ever used one in the past. The steps I have tried or deleting and reinstalling the Apple health app, restarting my iPhone, I’ve even gotten a new Apple ID
You can edit the landing…
You can edit the landing page so might be worth checking you've pinned steps.
I'd not trust asking siri anything.
Steps can be registered through the accelerometer on the phone too, it's just not quite as accurate.
Health app issues
Hey! You’re actually not the first person I’ve heard having issues with the iOS Health app. Just yesterday, someone mentioned they couldn’t track their steps with their watch. Basically, he said that if his iPhone isn’t nearby, his Apple Watch doesn’t update his steps in the Health app.
So it kinda sounds like the Health app might be having trouble syncing or tracking data properly. I’m not totally sure what the fix is, but I’d suggest restarting your phone—though I’m guessing you’ve already tried that. You could also try deleting and reinstalling the Health app to see if that helps.
For what it’s worth, I’m using an iPhone and Apple Watch too, and my steps show up just fine in the Health app. So yeah, maybe give it a restart and reinstall and see if that does the trick.
Check the following settings
Hi,
Give this a try. Go to settings, privacy, location services, system services, and make sure the following items are enabled:
Motion Calibration & Distance.
Improve Location Accuracy.
Also make sure Siri has access to your health data. I think you can enable this simply by asking Siri to check something from within the Health app.
HTH.
I have tried everything
Hi Sarah and Brian, I have tried everything you’ve suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the house app and it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I haven’t even went into settings, privacy, and I was just motion and distance, and that is on, I even checked Improved location and accuracy that is on as well. I have even made sure Siri was given access to the health data.
@Andrew Adolphson
That’s not supposed to happen. If you have all the permissions enabled and you’ve already tried everything, then it really should be working like it did before. The only thing I can suggest is resetting your iPhone and setting it up as a new device instead of restoring from a backup. It’s a bit of a hassle, but that way you eliminate any potential software issues. I’m not sure which country you’re in, but another option could be going to an Apple Store if there’s one nearby, or getting in touch with Apple Support—they might actually be helpful. None of these options are super quick, but hopefully one of them helps you sort things out. And if you decide to reset your iPhone, feel free to reach out if you need help!
@ Sarah
Hello Sarah, I have tried everything you just Suggested but erasing my iPhone and setting it up as new didn’t help either. I do live close to an Apple Store so I could stop in there, but maybe I could do it over the phone as well? I don’t think it’s really a big deal if the health app works or not because I just don’t use it very often
