Turning on audio descriptions on Apple TV with voiceover

Hi there. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to turn on audio descriptions on a 4th generation Apple TV with 1st gen Siri remote? I know I need to get to the audio and subtitle menu, but I can't figure out how to get there with voiceover. I'd like to be able to turn it on without sighted assistance if possible. Thanks. :-)

Unfortunately its a longstanding bug.

You can’t reliably get to the audio menu to change the audio track to AD or back to normal however there is a kind of sucky workaround. In the accessibility menu of settings you can turn audio descriptions on but you’ll have to choose whether you want it on or off instead of being able to flick between. It’s very much not ideal but you can at least access audio descriptions if you are the only one using the TV.
