tvOS 11: should I bother resetting?

By Voracious P. Brain, 26 November, 2017

tvOS and Apple TV Apps

Between utterly spastic Apple TV remote touch pad focus movement and lack of proper information being voiced in Hulu, particularly in lists of episodes, plus other issues, I haven't been able to use the Apple TV 4 since upgrading to TVOS 11 / 11.1. Are others still having similar experiences, or does a reset fix them? Not worth hunting down the app passwords unless I have reason to think it'd work.
Thanks.

TV OS 11 is virtually useless!

I don't know if a reset would accomplish anything or not, but I am every bit as disappointed in tv os 11 as you are. When it was first released, I did contact the Apple accessibility phone number and got a lot of my concerns filed, but I don't think reporting the issues did anything since, if anything, the 11.1 update was even worse; didn't think that was possible, but now doing pretty much everything on the Apple TV is a chore. I've heard that the 4K version of Apple tv has a different/better? remote, and I do plan to get the 4K version when finances permit, but I'm not going to pretend that it'll make tv os 11 useable. When I talked to Apple, the work-around that was suggested was using a BT keyboard. It helps.... Sometimes. I didn't think Apple could create anything more unpleasant than IOS 8, but they definitely topped themselves with this latest Apple TV software. Here's to hoping that it gets fixed soon. At this point, it's all but impossible to know if all of the Hulu accessibility issues are the fault of Hulu, or just the impossible navigation we now have with VO on the Apple TV in general. If you do decide to reset, please let us know if it actually makes any kind of difference.

I have no issues here

I have no issues here that I can think of. I will say that when using Netflix, when episodes switch to another episode, VoiceOver doesn't read the descriptions. i have reported this to Netflix, and to Apple. netFlix doesn't seem to understand the accessibility aspect from a VoiceOver perspective.
