Nanogram and WhatchChat 2

Hi!
I know that Nanogram hasn't been updated in about a year, but I'm having trouble signing into my telegram account, I dictate my number and hit next but nothing seems to happen. does it take a while to register that you're trying to sign in?
I'm also trying to get into WhatchChat 2 and I know it's not the most accessible, but does anyone have any tips with scanning the qr code?

I forgot to add that I'm running the latest WatchOS version. Series 4.
