Hi everyone,
I’ve been a long-time user of the Stryd running app and footpod, which I use on both my iPhone and Apple Watch. For those unfamiliar, Stryd provides highly accurate real-time data on power, pace, and distance, and it’s particularly valuable for treadmill running. I’ve relied on it for years to track both outdoor and indoor runs, and it remains my go-to tool for structured workouts and run tracking.
You can find more about the app here:

I'm meeting soon with the Stryd development team to discuss how the iOS and Apple Watch apps could be made more accessible. I plan to raise a few key points, including:
1. Enhancing VoiceOver support, especially for charts, graphs, and the training calendar. The iOS app includes many visualisations that would be very useful if they were made more accessible.
2. Making voice announcements more customisable (e.g., “speak on demand”, haptic cues before split intervals).
3. Better use of the Action Button and gestures to provide meaningful spoken feedback during workouts.
I’d really appreciate any input from the AppleVis community. What would make Stryd more usable for you? Are there specific issues, features, or examples from other fitness apps that Stryd could learn from?
If you're aware of any recent Apple documentation, WWDC sessions, or best practices on accessibility and data visualisation, please do share. I’d love to pass on relevant links or insights that could guide the developers.
Thanks in advance; I look forward to your thoughts!
