Unable to exit Update completed screen after updating to watchOS 7.2

By Chad Fenton, 16 December, 2020

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

This morning when my watch had updated to Watch 7.2, Voiceover could review notification the update had completed and the new features of the update, but there was no OK button or other way of exiting this screen and returning to the watch face. Pressing the crown or side button did nothing. I unpaired my iPhone and attempted to reinstall using a backup with an older Apple watch operating system, but it downloaded the latest one by default and the issue persists. Is there a way to exit the update completed screen or do I have to wait until Apple releases an update to fix the issue?

Regards,

Chad

I was eventually able to clear the message, I just don't remember how I did it.

You have to turn the crown button unteal you feel aviblation. Then look for an OK button. You might need Digital Crown Navigation off for this to work. You turn that off with a two finger tripple tap.

Locating The Ok Button

It took me about four hours to find the ok button. It was squashed along the very bottom edge of the watch screen. I was speaking with Apple Accessibility when I found it, so passed on the feedback that regular swipes don't let you get to it.

Per comment 2, turning the crown until you felt a vibration and then moving to the OK button worked. Thank you.

Hi.
I had a lot of trouble as well. Swiping up with two fingers made the OK button appear.

scrol down and tap ok. I figured that out after about 45 seconds of poking around. The OK button is not visuble by swiping. but once you scrol down to the bottom it will be in the lower right corner.
