In this Podcast, Scott Davert compares Amazon's new music service, Amazon Music Unlimited, with Apple Music. Specifically, Scott covers using both services with their virtual voice assistants: Alexa ans Siri. At the time of posting, Amazon Music Unlimited is only available in the US, but Amazon indicates that it will be available in the UK and Germany before the end of 2016.
I thought with prime you get free music? or is that something different.
Prime is its own service that is different from Amazon Music Unlimited. If you have Prime Music, it will still function as it always has.
My understanding is that with Prime we have access to about 2,000,000 songs. With Amazon Music Unlimited, the music library is about 10,000,000. This is still a great fewer songs than Apple Music, Spotify, Rhapsody, Slacker, Tidal, or any of the other main music streaming services. However, I'm sure Amazon will increase its numbers very soon.
