How to Use Background Sounds on iOS to Minimize Distractions and Help Focus, Stay Calm, or Rest
In this podcast from his series looking at some of what's new and notable in iOS 15, Thomas Domville Shows us Background Sounds.
Apple says that “everyday sounds can be distracting, discomforting, or overwhelming,” so in support of neurodiversity it is introducing new background sounds in iOS 15.
According to Apple this is how background sounds will help minimize distractions and help users focus, stay calm, or rest:
Balanced, bright, or dark noise, as well as ocean, rain, or stream sounds continuously play in the background to mask unwanted environmental or external noise, and the sounds mix into or duck under other audio and system sounds.
Hin, thank you for giving us those podcasts for what's new and features for this and every update. These help me not only know what's new, but, also how to use features!
Also, a big huge thank-you to your team who put up with I'm sure more bugs than anyone can bare, so that we don't have to! Not to mention bringing them to us, and helping us make informed decisions about updating or not.
Now, I do have one question. Do you need an Apple Music account to access these sounds? I ask, because I don't have Apple Music. But, I'd still love to be able to access some of these.
Again, huge thanks to you, and your team! :-)
