Thank you Mighty Mouse for the big announcement on iOS 14

By Blind angel 444 on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

I loved that iOS 14 will be released during my birthday month! Now hopefully I can use the apps that are currently inaccessible for me. I would love to play the inaccessible games too.
This is so cool!!! Thank you Apple for all of the new features!!!
Next please improve the accessibility of the Game Center and Apple Arkade, then this will be excellent for the blind community.

bug in IOS14

By Dennis Long on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

You no longer hear any notification tones while on a call this is a bug from iOS 13. is there any way to fix this?

Are you sure this is a bug and not a feature?

By Jeff on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

It seems like one wouldn't want notifications interrupting a phone call.

More Info about Back Tap

By Anna D on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

Thanks for the great overview! A couple of things to note about Back tap. It's available on the iPhone X as well as the XR and later. I assume that means it's also on the 8 since it came out the same year as the X, but I don't know that for sure. I do know it's on the X because I have one.

In addition to accessing Back Tap from VoiceOver's Commands screen, you can access it through Accessibility/Touch/Back Tap. From there, you can assign these gestures to different things, including any shortcuts you have created. You either set up both gestures here or both gestures in VoiceOver Settings; you can't set up one in one place and one in the other.

Magnifier can be on the Home Screen

By Anna D on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

Thanks for explaining all the ways to configure Magnifier. You can also use the App Library to drag it to a home screen once you've turned it on. This could be handy if you use it a lot.

this is a bug

By Dennis Long on Friday, October 9, 2020 - 19:53

it worked where you heard the notifications from at least iOS 12 all the way to beta 14. This is a bug and will be reported as such by me. Also I google and others are saying the same thing issue.
