Blue Satellite: Premium Sound, Great Build and a few features worth discussing

Posted on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 by HoldenM

Hey everyone. Today I'd like to take a few minutes of your time to review the Blue Satellite, a headset that came out in 2017 from company Blue. They have the Blue Snowball, Blue Yetti and some other products you've probably heard of.

A few years ago they made their first forray into headphones with the Blue Mofi's, now called Sadie, and although I have not used that product, I have heard it has an amazing sound. I believe this is their attempt to provide a similar…

Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Headphones: Vibrate my head!

Posted on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 by HoldenM

Hello. Today I would like to review for you the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless headphones.

This is one of my favorite Bluetooth headsets, and in just a second I'll tell you what makes these headphones so great.

I first heard about this pair of headphones early last fall. Their major selling points were the haptic bass you can feel, and a 40-hour battery life, which in my opinion, in a $200 headset, is a bit crazy, but nevertheless, I've tested it and the battery life is…

Subpac m2X: Let's Feel the Bass

Posted on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 by HoldenM

Hello Applevis readers. Today I would like to review for you a product called the Subpac m2X, hereafter referred to as the Subpac. This device is one of the greatest audio accessories I have ever found. I watch a lot of Youtube channels specifically about different products, and I love headphone and speaker reviews. It gives me something interesting to do while I come up with the cash to get whatever that item is to experiment with it and see if it will fit into my life in any shape, way or…

What's In the Box

The Basslet, watch size subwoofer for your body

Posted on Monday, November 20, 2017 by Elena Brescacin

Searching for new ideas from technology world, I have encountered a German startup called Lofelt, with a very interesting project: it's called The Basslet, a wearable bracelet made "for feeling music" through vibrations and haptics. It's called, subwoofer for your body. Of course, it is no promise for allowing completely deaf people to hear music, but it can be helpful in certain contexts: during gymnastic, you can feel the rhythm better, or you'll get a more immersive atmosphere while…

VoiceOver users should Avoid the Bose SoundSport Free

Posted on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 by kevinchao89

As some may be aware, Bose released their version of the Apple AirPods, which are called: Bose SoundSport Free. I decided to see how they compare to the Apple AirPods, which I’ve found to be the best earphones I’ve ever used.

I’m a person who is blind and uses VoiceOVer on iOS and MacOS.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are major regressions with the SoundSport Free compared to the Wireless or Wired, QC35 II, QC20, etc. THis is in the context as using it as a person who is…

Bose Sound Link Micro (small but mighty!(

Posted on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 by Trilobite27

The Bose Sound Link Micro is Bose’s newest and smallest speaker to date. It is roughly square about 10 cm across and in height. It is about 3cm in depth. The speaker is perfectly pocketable weighing just under 300 grams. The exterior is a very soft and tough silicone rubber available in three colours. Black, Dark blue and Orange.
It has been designed to stand up to knocks and drops with it being completely waterproof for up to 30 minutes in one meter of water. It has a stated battery…

A Review of the Ckeyin Media and Camera Bluetooth Remote Control for iOS

Posted on Thursday, September 14, 2017 by Doug

I've been using a remote control for a few months and others might find this useful as well.

The ckeyin (spelled c k e y i n) remote easily fits in the palm of the hand and is about the size of the Creative audio MP3 device and about the same shape.  Most folks will likely never have seen the creative offering which died out about 10 years ago.  Anyway, the Ckeyin remote is quite small and has real feel appeal.  For purposes of clarity, I will define the top as being the end…

Handy Tech Actilino Review

Posted on Friday, June 30, 2017 by Travis Roth
The Actilino, a Braille display sold by Handy Tech and sold in the U.S. by Triumph Technologies, is the latest portable Braille display to hit the market with first shipments in the U.S. received in June 2017. The Actilino falls in the “smart Braille display” category as along with being a display it has some built in features such as notetaking, a calculator, a calendar and Handy Tech’s music Braille feature. If you are not familiar, Scott Davert gave an overview of the smart Braille display…

A Review of the O6, a Media/VoiceOver Controller for iOS

Posted on Monday, June 26, 2017 by mehgcap

Intro

What if I told you that you could have a tiny device you can use to control the music, audio books, or podcasts on your iPhone or iPad? Nice, right? No fumbling with on-screen buttons, no limited AirPod controls, no missing the rewind function on your Aftershokz headset. But what if I then told you that this same device can be a remote control for VoiceOver itself? That, without having to touch your screen, you can open and navigate apps, double tap, change the volume, even…

Rockin' with the Rock Wall 5-Port USB Charger

Posted on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 by Scott Davert

Introduction:

In our ever-expanding world of technology, we have also experienced an ever-expanding need for more cables and, more specifically, USB powered charging devices. And while we're at it, also more of those power bricks that go with our technology to charge it through AC power. Unless, you have something which can charge multiple USB powered devices at once, while also connecting to the wall. The Rock Wall 5-Port USB Charger being sold by …

Bose Sound Link Revolve+ Review

Posted on Monday, June 12, 2017 by Trilobite27

The BOSE Sound Link Revolve+

What is it?
It’s a 360 degree drop proof and water resistant Bluetooth speaker made by BOSE. It stands 18cm in height and 10cm in width at the base. It looks like a cone with a flattened top. Sort of like a Dalek from DR Who.
It is constructed from smooth seamless Aluminium with a silicone top and bottom. Around the sides of the speaker are finely milled sound holes. The speakers come in “Triple Black” or “Lux Grey” which is a posh way of…

tilt hydrometer for home brewing

Posted on Saturday, May 6, 2017 by eburggraaf

Intro

I hope to set up my first home brew extracter kit this weekend. It took some time to get my tilt up and running, but it is now water calibrated and ready to go. This is huge for me. Tilt is one of two smart hydrometers that I know of and it's the cheeper of the two. I've got a regular hydrometer here as well. It's just a glass tube like a standard thermometer. Utterly useless to a person who is blind. The tilt sits directly in the fermenter and takes constant readings…

COULAX CX04 Wireless Neckband Bluetooth Earbuds

Posted on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 by tunmi13

This product is called the Coulax CX04, a comfortable device that you like a necklace with half of the necklace cut off, if you get what I'm saying.
It is a small, round band that fits comfortably on your neck, and the magnetic ear buds stick to its sides so they don't whack you while you are running, doing fitness, etc.
Once you take them out, you fit them right into your ears. If you are not a fan of ear buds this might not be a good choice.
The on/off switch…

Apple Wireless AirPods: a Comprehensive Review

Posted on Thursday, January 5, 2017 by AlexKLMan

They’re here; they’re finally here!

At their event in September, where they presented the iPhone 7, Apple also showcased two tiny earphones they called the AirPods.

Offering a truly wireless experience, these Bluetooth earphones claims to simplify our life by offering a seamless integration to Apple’s other line of products, especially the iPhone 7 without the headphone jack; and no, this does not come with the new iPhones. You have your Lightning headphones and adapter for…

It comes in black and silver, like the Apple one, but it also comes in rose gold. Posted on Sunday, November 20, 2016 by thebigt

This is a case for the ipad mini which comes with a built in Bluetooth keyboard.

The case opens like a book. The top part of the case houses the ipad mini while the bottom of the case is the built in keyboard. The ipad mini sits securely inside the top of the case. All buttons and ports are uncovered and visible. There are two magnets on the bottom of the cradle which allows the ipad to sit upright for typing. DKnight MagicBox II Bluetooth Speaker Review

Posted on Sunday, November 6, 2016 by mehgcap

Reviewing the DKnight MagicBox II

A few weeks ago, I was browsing my "Tech Deals" list on Twitter. I read about some bluetooth speaker for $30, then had to re-read the tweet. No, I hadn't read wrong: the speaker was on sale for $30, and normally cost around $130. I'd been wanting a bluetooth speaker anyway, and $100 off was too good to pass up. A few days later, I unpacked my …
