Apple has today released iOS 10.0.2 to address some bugs introduced in last weeks public launch of iOS 10.
According to the release notes via AppleInsider, the full list of changes spotlighted by Apple are:
- Addresses an issue that could prevent headphone audio controls from temporarily not working
- Resolves an issue that caused Photos to quit for some users when turning on iCloud Photo Library
- Fixes an issue that prevented enabling some app extensions
Coming so soon after last week’s release, it is likely that the above fixes have been the priority for this update, so we do not anticipate that there will be any fixes for the accessibility-related problems introduced in iOS 10.0.1. However, it you do find any improvements or regressions, please let us know by posting a comment below.
How to Update to iOS 10.0.2
iOS 10.0.2 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update) or via iTunes on a Mac or PC.
Before updating, we strongly recommend making a full and complete backup of your device (either in iTunes or iCloud, depending on personal preference). This will ensure that, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong during the update process, you will have a current backup of your phone on hand in case a device restore becomes necessary. Also, if using OTA update, we recommend plugging your device into a power source for the duration of the download/installation process - so as to prevent the unlikely event of your battery going dead during the update.
More information on how to update the software on your iOS device is available on this Apple Support page.
As always, we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this update.
