Changing the Root Password on your Jailbroken iDevice (Mac)
Following on from a previous podcast in which he and Chirag discussed some of the possible consequences of leaving your jailbroken iDevice with its default root password, Musicruz gives us a walk-through of how to change this password on a Mac.
Musicruz and Chirag have created a designated repo that listeners can access to reset their iDevice back to the default password. Simply install the package and it will reset the password back to "alpine".
The repo URL is: http://cydia.myrepospace.com/chirag

#1 accessible way to change password on phone.
Hi,
Two things to say about this topic, firstly apple devices have two users, a root user which has full control of the phone, and a mobile user which has different privilege levels, both these users share the same password so its sensible to change the password for both users.
Now the second point to make, is that there is actually an app in cydia that you can use to change the password on the phone without having to use open ssh or your computer.
The app is in the bigboss repository and to find it just do a search for SYS Passwd, this gives you options to change it for both mobile and root users individually and is VoiceOver accessible.
