Please interview the developers of this app!
Anonymouse, great job with the podcast, convince me to download Threema, and I'm so glad I did. Thank you for helping my friends and I find the perfect replacement for Roger! I hope you could eventually interview the developers of Threema for an Apple Vis extra because that would be totally awesome! I would love to know whether they meant to make this app accessible for the blind or not. How did they hear about VoiceOver? Why is this app so insanely secure? I'm sure others would like to know the answers to these questions along with myself. Thanks and it Vance for doing this excellent extra, it will be great!
Just downloaded Threema
Hey there, Anonymouse! I listened to your podcast and subsequently downloaded Threema. On the whole, I like it and think it will be a suitable Roger replacement, but there are a few things that I need to get used to. The biggest issue I've encountered so far is that when I'm finished recording, even after I do the 2 finger double tap to stop recording, VO's volume is so low that I have a lot of trouble finding the send button. Is there a work-around for this? Also, I tried to add you using the Threema ID in your podcast, but Threema didn't find that ID, so I was unable to send you a message. Other than those issues, though, I think I'm going to like this app pretty well. Thanks for making this podcast, and I hope that you're having a great day.
Alternative Solution and Threema ID
Hey Missy,
Glad to hear that you like Threema. Like you I also think there are some tweak that I also like to see to improve the flow of things for VoiceOver users. From what I have heard from my listeners they are already hard at work in contacting the developer and the developer has been very receptive.
One of those annoying problems is what you have discovered and hopefully they will be able to address that for us. My temporary solution is that after you do the two-finger double tap to stop the recording is then do a four-finger single tap towards the bottom of the screen. This will place you on the Send. Hope that does the trick for you.
As for my Threema ID. Let’s check and make sure you have my Threema ID correctly. My Threema ID is A5BVMVAW
Let me know if that does the trick for you.
still can't find you
Hi there! Thank you very much for your response. I was definitely entering the correct Threema ID for you, but I tried it in all uppercase the way you sent it on here, and it still says "no results" I guess I'm just not destined to send you a message. If you would like to try sending me one, though, my ID is S3V8MZEB. From what I recall in your podcast, it'll automatically add senders of new messages to my Threema contacts, so that might be a work-around assuming you'd want to chat, of course. *smile*
In other Threema-related news, I had a really weird glitch happen today when sending a message. When I did the 2 finger double tap, it basicly made a second copy of my message and appended it to the original recording. So, instead of a 5 minute message, it sent 10 minutes. I think I learned a shortcut that might be worthwhile, though. When I'm done talking, I just start swiping to the right, and although it's very faint, I can usually hear where focus is moved to. Anyway, I learned that you can send a message without hitting stop first, so that's kind-a cool. Thanks again for your response out here in Applevis land, and I hope that you're having a great day!
