In my modest opinion, I think that when you donate something you do it without expecting anything in return or else it would be exchanging or buying. In other words, we would be buying a tag. After all, if I'm going to buy you a cup of coffee I don't expect you to give me a cookie. I am very thankful to Aaron for having made the effort and taken the time to make this game very accessible and that's why I don't mind donating and buying the chapters. I know that it is very time consuming to create a game and it also costs a lot of money to maintain it. On the other hand, I love this game in every aspect because it does not force you to play or to get out of your schedule in any way. This is one of the things that makes it a very relaxing game. I hope you don't take it as me antagonizing your point of view, my friend. I am just expressing my opinion on this matter. I am sure that all of us absolutely like this game and, in the end, that is all that counts.
By the way, I am Quasar in the game.
Cheers.

Hi Drummerguy.
Thanks for your comment, and I don't feel offended at all. I totally agree. However, most games gives you something in return when you donate something. I don't mind donating like this. I just think it would be great if the game mentioned that you don't get anything by donating a cup of coffee. I'm not disappointed or mad about this, because the game is worth 10 cups of coffee... :)

Try as I might, I still can't get the amulet

By Nolly on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I should have asked this before but do you have the original journal entry from listening for the Scout's Amulet? You don't need all the entries, but I believe you do need the original entry. If you do just keep trying the area I mentioned in my message. The chance for Legendary items is low, so it may take some time.

By Ray Rucker on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

Hey, can someone message me in regards to the Scout's anulet? I got the first journal entry, and listening at the inns does nothing. Thanks.

By Audrey on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

Maybe it's supposed to work like this, but sometimes new map locations are dimmed and I can't click on them to see what I need to do like I can with the ones that have the lock symbol. For instance, right now I am stuck because I know I need to go to Prophet's River and Mountain Retreat but they are both dimmed. I've almost got enough gold to buy my ship so maybe that will make them active. Neither of them say they are locked. I just don't get why sometimes they say locked and I can click on them to see what is required to unlock while sometimes they are dimmed and unclickable. I thought perhaps these were only accessible from certain towns, but I have been everywhere and they haven't become clickable. Is it supposed to work like this?

Also, this is a really fun game and I really appreciate the accessibility. Thanks for your hard work, Aaron. I will definitely be buying the chapters once I get through the Prelude.

By Nolly on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I posted a brief comment on this on page 2, but yes it is designed that some areas are dimmed and/or lockedDimmed means y ou aren't at the proper location that connects, and a lock is for a location that requires an item. The reason it is dimmed is to prevent those who may already have the necessary item but the wrong location from traveling, as all it takes to unlock is the proper item. . This is because certain areas require you to travel to them from a specific location when traveling to it for the first time. The developer is working on a solution, but it isn't an easy fix without directly spoon feeding every step of the game.

In the mean time you need to travel from the Grasslands to get to the river.

By Aaron Vernon on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I believe the map navigation confusion, particularly around dimmed buttons, should be mostly resolved by version 3.1.2 that was released today. Please let me know how you go and what other pain points still remain.

CHANGES
● Due to popular demand, you can now travel to new locations (locked or unlocked) from any other location on the map, rather than only when you are adjacent to them - this improves usability for new players and also has large benefits for players using VoiceOver
● Side affect of the above change is that travelling between chapters now takes travel time which allows you to do it from any location on the map

BUG FIXES
● Fixed bugs with tutorials for iPad that were introduced in the previous release

By DMNagel on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

If I go to chapter 1 locations, can I come back to prelude locations?

By DMNagel on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

Got my answer and it is yes.

By Sabrina on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

This game is aawesome. I am looking forward to getting my next gift card because I am already hooked. I love the gem cutting.

By DrummerGuy on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I seem to be having problems finding the Ring of Success. Can somebody message me with some directions, please?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

By vulcansummer on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but I can only earn a certain amount of gold, then no matter how much more gold I get, the number stays the same. For example, it says I have six hundred out of six hundred gold. I assumed this means you can earn only that much for a level. But once I get to another level, should the amount go higher? I may be getting this wrong. Would someone mind explaining this to me? Thanks so much.

Buy real estate, like the small chest or the shack, and later, from your hero tab, go to real estate and upgrade them to make them able to store more. a fully upgraded chest and shack give you a total of 1000 gold

By Sabrina on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I have too little gold to continue. How can I get more?

By vulcansummer on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

Firstly, thank you to everyone who so kindly helped me with my question. I really appreciate it.

Sabrina, to get more gold, you do quests. The more quests you do, the more gold you earn.
I hope that helps.

By Sabrina on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

I want to buy chapter 1 and chapter 2. Where do I go to do this?

By Justin on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

Just go to the journal tab and search for the chapters, it's past your journal entries.

By JennyM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 16:14

My hero name is Arienne, for those interested.

Just started playing, have made it to the Grasslands. So far, so good. This is fun, and I'm glad it's been updated for accessibility.

I have not been able to put it down since I got it. I am glad you are enjoying the game.
If you'd like, I will give you the code to our campfire.

Here you will be able to find some of us from this community.
Cheers.

Hi. My hero name is Galadrielle. I believe we can go to each other's camp fires. If you look under the campfire tab, there's an info button. If you tap on there it gives you your campfire ID and you can then share I believe. Haven't done it yet as I don't know anyone :-)

By JennyM on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Okay, so. I have run into a road block. It feels like I should be able to figure this out, but I just can't... I need a map to get to the Eastern Plains and I can't find it. I must be missing something obvious. Anyone with a hint.. well. Perhaps message me, as I don't want to cause spoilers to be posted here for those not so lost.

By Nolly on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

If I recall correctly it is purchased in the town Mountain retreat.

...you're right. How the heck did I miss that? I was sure I'd looked. huzzah!

By That Blind Canuck on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Hi everyone, I typically was never really a fan of RPG, as you had spend your time building your character. Always preferred just jumping into it and playing. Although with this game, I started slowly and must admit that I am not minding the character building. I am actually finding myself playing this a lot more and enjoying this more then I ever thought I would. My character's name is "Daenerys" (yes I am a Game of Thrones fan!) and if it is alright @DrummerGuy, I joined your campfire. I am super thrilled that the developper has joined the conversation and has made a lot of effort to maiking the game fully accessible. Thank you for this.

Ive tried my hand at cutting a gem but kind of failed and brought the quality down dramatically, but will try it again now after reading some posts here on how to successfully do it. There are still quite a few things I need to learn as I haven't yet purchased the chapters, but will most likely be doing once I complete the original quest. For now, I am spending time levelling up my character's strength to bring her as levelled as her Intelligence level.

Again, great job to Aaron for doing a awesome job and making a fun game.

By MikeFont on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Hi all, within the past day or so I've been playing this game as most of you, lol nearly non-stop! A huge thank you to the terrific developer Aaron, and all of the accessible beta testers which make up this awesome apple vis community. :)
There's so many things I enjoy about this game, and so many things that are done just right. I've played godville before, and that was just too much hands off. This is the perfect balance of interaction and letting my lil char go about his own quests. Btw, my adventurer's name is Quint.
I believe a few of you are around my campfire. :) I did try to change campfires, I entered the ID string given above, but I got a failure notification and clicked ok.

On to my original question.
I'm level 5 now, and I'm accumulating items with various values in various stats.
I have a good set of eq with excellent intelligence and some with luck and lore stats mixed also.
Now with the second set of quests, I'm gaining a new set of equipment with strength and dex, but with luck and lore on them also. Clearly, I can only keep so many items as I'm nearly at my limit of 28 items now. So... should I sell off the pieces with intelligence and what not on them? and hang on the strength items since I'm at the cliff lookout, and all the quests here are strength based?
Any advice with equipment stacking up would be appreciated. Realise I've sold off all the level 2 stuff, but what I have now I'm not sure if I'll need it later.
I'd like to hang on to the luck and lore pieces for gem cutting and lore researching.
Ugh, I'm not looking forward to cutting my first gem. lol

Sorry this post was a bit lengthy, but its easier to type from my desktop rather than my IPhone 7. Thanks a ton for any help with this!

By JTran2013 on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Hi,
You can increase the number of items you're carrying by purchasing items in the various shops. For example, the hired help will increase the item number by 3 extra items that you can hold. You also need to upgrade the hired help etc. as you play. Look under the companions tab under the hero tab.

This method is the same for increasing the gold you can hold. For example, the safety deposit box. Look under real estate under the hero tab. Remember to upgrade the companions and real estates!

By Sabrina on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Where can I find Gem Cutting?

By JTran2013 on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Under the hero tab there is a gems button. In the gems section there is a cut button for each gem above the sell button for each gem.

By MikeFont on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Thanks for the info JTran, but the only companion I have now is a donkey that reduces my travel time by a few minutes. Can I have more than one companion at the same time? I kinda thought I'd have to choose between them. That'd be great if we were able to have more than one.
Also, the only other companion I've seen so far was a parrot. Where might I find the companion you mentioned?

Well I guess my question remains, will I need all this intelligence gear down the road in my future adventures and quests?
Thanks so much for the help, its appreciated.

Hi Mike,
Yes you can have more than one companion at the same time throughout your journey. The hired help should be at the same shop you bought the ship from. I have sold older items as I gradually leveled up. Some of the items I've kept too!

My hero name is JoAnn if you want to send me a message at the camp fire.
Thanks,
JoAnn

By Rocco on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Hello, loving this game right now. Most things are working properly, and I can sort of perform law research and Jim cutting.
Can anyone help with location of the scouts amulet all the pirate boots? I think I know the location of each, but having done 50 also quests, I’m starting to doubt myself.
Thanks, Rocco

By Nolly on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

**Spoilers**
You've been warned

Scout's Amulet is in the Temple quest in the Tropical Jungle and the Legger's Boots are at the Serppents Headquarters.

By Nolly on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

It is also important to note that I've been asked quite often about a misconception going around in the campfires that it is best to wait until you are done with a chapter before collecting your legendary items. While this will ensure that the legendary item will be of a higher level with every stat similar to an enchanted item, you lose out on the very valuable boost of the stat bonus the item provides while trying to quest and level up during a particular chapter. Also, if you have the lore page available, an item to consume that upgrades a legendary items stats which also fits both of the legendary items bonuses, you should consider upgrading immediately since it is unwise to wait until you have an enchanted item to upgrade. In short you should always upgrade whenever possible to ensure yourself the highest percentage going into a higher level quest. Waiting until the end will result in a lower stat line causing you to potentially fail a quest which would be easier if you upgraded your legendary items on a regular basis.

By That Blind Canuck on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Thanks for confirming the locations for the Legendary items. It's nice to know where exactly to look. As for the Serppent's Headquarters, where exactly is that one again?

By Autumn on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

This game have sound?

By Justin on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Not much. It's mainly like a text adventure game, but with much more elements. The only sound i've seen so far is gem cutting.

By viphoana on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Love the game but cannot find ring of success. About to give up. Could anyone confirm location with spoiler warning for others or writing privately? Just about had it trying quests in the general area mentioned. Thanks!

Just keep in mind that since the game is random number generator, it could take some time but, eventually, you will get the item you are searching for. It took me approximately eight or 10 times to get it. There have been other people who have found the item in a couple of attempts.

By Cliff on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Hi there! I've just started playing this awesome game a couple of days ago.
But when trying to open the app now, it just closes right away, i.e. crashing. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app from the app store, but still no go.
And since it worked fine earlier today, I was wondering if this could be some kind of server issue. Does anyone know anything about this?
Anyone else having problems opening the app at the moment?

I have the same thing and developer said to just wait and issue will be fixed in worsed case with an update coming out in next days. He suggests to not delete and reinstall app to avoid risking loosing progress. So patience everyone. Happy waiting or happy questing for those that still have a working app.

By Cliff on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Thank's a lot! Good to know that I ain't the only one! :)
But it's very wierd that it worked just fine earlier today, perhaps only 4-5 hours ago. It first started crashing after reaching level 3 and doing a few quests. Very odd...
Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for a fix.
Thank's again! :)

By DrummerGuy on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

I guess I should be thankful that I'm not having that problem. Hope this issue is solved soon enough for those who are experiencing crashes, etc.

Glad it's working for you but makes waiting around harder in a funny way. Leave some lute for us unlucky ones. lol. Mystery deepens because game opened on my iPad but on a lower level so now hoping that, when iPhone is fixed I will not get pushed back to old backup. Happy adventures.

By DrummerGuy on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

In reply to by viphoana

Will make sure to leave some for everyone. LOL. Seriously, guys, I hope that the issue that some of you are experiencing can be solved as soon as possible. The legendary items and everything else is waiting for you. This is such an awesome game and I have not been able to put it down ever since I started playing it. Cheers, players.
