Just downloaded the update that's fixed the crash. Back in business. If you go to app store with updates tab and it's not showing the update just do a 3 finger swipe down on the update page to refresh it and it should show. This is assuming you have iOS 11. Happy adventures.

I have regularly quested in the mine to defeat the foreman but wondered if there are other quests that can somehow be unlocked there through listening or other side quests? Thanks for any pointers without much spoiledr if possible.

Where do I actually find gems? I haven’t seen any and have been playing for long.

Drop chance of gems is rare. You can increase by raising luck stats but just be patient. You can see what gems you have in the "Hero" tab under gems. Maybe you already have some and have not noticed? Good luck.

By Nolly on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

Gems have a chance to drop from level 3 quests and up but have a very low starting drop rate. You may not see your first drop until you have been playing for an extended period of time.

How do you tell when the items are weak?

By viphoana on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 16:14

When you get an item questing it will tell you level and points in stat such as dexterity or strength etc. If it is the best you own in a category you will hear a star after the stat it is best in. Example enchanted cloth boots, level 3 3 dexterity 2 lore star. THe star after lore would tell you these are your best lore boots. YOu can also view your items in the hero tab and sort them by the stat that you’re interested in. I was just making those numbers up so not accurate just to illustrate. HOpe this helps.Would mean

Just a quick message to make everyone aware of a reasonably big accessibility improvement - the specific path to travel to locations can now be described with VoiceOver in the travel popup. This change was suggested by quite a few of you, so thank you for your feedback!

In addition, Gem Reforging in 3.2.0 helps VoiceOver players by giving them an alternative to Gem Cutting for improving their gems.

Full 3.2.0 release notes:

NEW FEATURES
● Inn Quests - are you constantly short on gold and wish there was a more efficient way to obtain it? Various quests can now be undertaken at Inns around the land to earn you significant amounts of gold.
● Gem Reforging - do you struggle with gem cutting or simply want to strive for perfect quality gems? You can now combine a gem of the highest available tier with another in order to reforge it and increase its overall quality.

CHANGES
● Illustrious Gem Cutting now requires a recipe from Chapter 1 - existing players who have already visited Thardric Slums will have the recipe automatically added to their quest items.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS
● The specific path to travel to locations can now be described with VoiceOver in the travel popup
● Added commas between the runes in the accessibility label for Lore Researching guesses to improve the VoiceOver readability

BUG FIXES
● Fixed another bug with the number of locations being calculated incorrectly

I wanted to discuss gem cutting and share some ideas about changes to interface that could help with voiceover and gem cutting. That being said, I'm not good yet with gems so keep this in mind when reading suggestions. Still I think these could be valid improvements.
1. The delay idea implemented for vo users seems arbitrary because we have no good feedback if cut was made to early or too late.
I suggest making the goal to cut as close as possible to beginning of sound without anticipating it. Or at least hearing a high sound after making cut if we were too late and a low sound if too early so one can improve.

2. Another alternative interface: changing sound to a rising and falling pitch and goal could be to cut as close as possible to the high point of the pitch curve.

What do you guys think? Especially those that already are good gem cutters.

Can anyone here explain upgrading legendary items? I decided to upgrade the Ring of Success and now the stats show it as Level 9 (which is what it was before), +20 Strength +1 Intelligence +15% +7 Lucj +15%. Now I do not recall the Ring of Success having that low of Luck and Intelligence before I upgraded, so I don't understand what happened and how to get the stats evenly back up. I do believe I had upgraded it with a Level 9 Mighty Ring that had +20 Strength, but I just thought it would have added extra strength to the Ring's original strength and left the Luck and Intelligence levels alone. Am I missing something here. Is there something out there that could properly go over how and when to upgrade legendary items and upgrade them with what?? Would appreciate some help in making sense of all of this. Thanks!

If you look at a legendary item it has some stats with some having a bonus of 15%
If you upgrade it it will take on the stats of the item you consume unless the stat is one of those that have the 15% bonus.
A good idea is to make use of the preview feature before upgrading.
So if you upgraded the ring with a mighty ring it will only have strength now. Since strength is not one of the stats that has 15% bonus it will not improve the stat of the mighty ring you consume.
Only way to get more stats is to upgrade again with another ring.
Hope this makes sense.
So as a general rule it makes sense to upgrade if item you consume has stats that your legendary item has bonus of 15% or, ideally an enchanted item so that your legendary one will take on stats in all the other areas. Hope this made sense.

By That Blind Canuck on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - 16:14

Thanks for the intel, kind of clears things up a bit. Now if I wanted to upgrade the Ring of Success again, would it be better to wait until I snagged an Enchanted Ring that was, let's say, level 10 or higher, would that work? I guess I am just trying to figure out when is the best time to upgrade legendary items and with what?

Thanks again, very much appreciated!

By That Blind Canuck on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - 16:14

Another question I forgot, if I were to sell the Ring of Success and return to the mines, would I be able to snag another Ring of Success or are there only one, so once you got it, that't it?

I try and wait for a suitable item before upgrading my Legendary ones. With suitable I mean an item that is either Enchanted or matches the Legendary items bonus stats. For example, if I had a Legendary item (e.g the Ring of Success) with the following stats:

Legendary Item +10STR, +10DEX, +10 INT(15%), +10Lore, +10Luck(15%).

I would upgrade it by consuming either:
Item: +X-INT, +X-luck, or
Enchanted Item: +X-STR, +X-DEX, +X-INT, +X-lore, +X-luck.

This is because with these two items I can take advantage of the Legendary items bonus percentages (+15% INT and Luck), as the Legendary item becomes the consumed item with the added bonus percentages. Does that make sense? So because you consumed a Strength item for your Ring of Success, there were no INT or Luck stats the Legendary item could enhance.

I hope this clarifies things a little. Also, you cannot sell Legendary items, so best to wait until you have a suitable Ring with INT and Luck stats before upgrading it again :)

I would not mind some more information after the cutting so I can get an idea of which cut I failed at, but I would be mindful of adding to many sounds. I think the cutting is challenging, but not to difficult. Here are some tips that might help:

1, Make sure to equip all your highest ”Luck” items before cutting. This makes a huge difference, which means that the higher level you are, the easier the cutting process will be.
2, There are Legendary items that will increase the level of the gems that you get from quests. E.g from the start a gem might drop as +6STR, but after you find the Legendary items the same gem would drop as +14STR.
3, I try and do gem cutting with as little distractions around me, so in a quiet environment, without a headset, and with the volume on the phone turned up a bit...

These days I usually end up with 85%+ on each cut, so hang in there, it will get easier :)

Quick question, is there a way to increase the ammount of gold I get while the game is idle, that is, not being played? I'm not exactly sure how to do this, and thought I'd post on here!

To increase the amount of gold you earn each hour you have to own real estate that does this and then upgrade them. Hth.

Thank you for the nomination for the iOS app Hall of Fame, I am incredibly honored!

I take great pleasure in continually improving the game and it has been awesome learning about how best to cater those improvements to blind and low vision players.

I am really enjoying the gameplay. I have read through most of the comments in this forum and it appears that the developer of the game really does work hard at ensuring Voiceover works well. I also wanted to express my thanks for all the great suggestions and helpful hints posted here.

Keep up the great work Aaron.

I still haven't started traveling by ship yet because I've been trying to figure out how to find the map to the Shattered Reef. Stuck on this one. Have tried everything that I can without any progress.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello Nolly. I found your post on the AudioGames website for locating the legendary items. I have completed the Prelude and I'm trying to finish the legendary items before moving on to chapter one. I have been questing in the location you suggested for the amulet for 3.5 days now, at 100% chance from the beginning but nothing has changed, except that I continue to receive items and gold. Should this quest take so long especially since I'm at 100% already? Any help is appreciated.

By maxi on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 - 16:14

is there a tutorial?

By Nolly on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 - 16:14

Be sure that you have the quest which is received from an inn, if you do not have it you will be unable to obtain the amulet. Also, the drop rate of a legendary item is independent from your success rate for a quest.

By Roxann Pollard on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 - 16:14

If you mean that I hav the legendary item showing on the journal tab, then yes I have it. Do I understand correctly?

Hi everyone, it has been a long time, but Chapter 3 'The Veiled Frontier' is finally finished and available for purchase in version 3.4.0! Thank you all for your patience.

Travel beyond the veil to a new frontier - escape a hidden city, explore uncharted lands, help excavate a path through a mountain in search of a fertile place to settle, and even venture underwater. All this to finally unmask the dark conspiracy at play in the Land of Livia.

Enjoy!

Me and a few other people are trying to rebuild the land of Livia subReddit. Would anyone like to help us? If so, come to the subReddit and contribute. If you do not want to directly contribute, ask your campfire if they would like to help.

I am starting out in the game and i cannot find anything to indecate a first quest or a path i can take not even locked ones. i see locked journal entries. I closed and am about to reopen the app but was here seeking advice because i am so confused I found the quests button on the help screen and the paths button but aside from telling me what they are for they do nothing. I can't see a way to raise my stats or anything. As I said I am sorely confused. once i finish this chapter I will buy the others when i get paid but at this rate its not making me want to buy the other chapters.

Having thought that the story was at an end, I was pleasantly surprised the other day when an update was released with a new chapter titled "Epilogue: A Fragile unity". Now it's time to dust off my gear and solve this new mystery.

I'm ashamed to admit that it's been a very long time since I opened the app, but thankfully, had never deleted it and my saved game was still there, ready for me to pick up where I last left off and go exploring.

I had to find this post again and refresh my memory on how to play the Lore game, as the original instructions had served me well and, like the individual who posted, found their technique to work for me pretty much every time. Although now, it appears that game has changed and I guess I'll have to figure out how to solve these puzzles all over again.

I do like that there is a puzzle difficulty setting, where one can set it to either "Casual", "Balanced" or "Challenging". Not sure how changing this setting will affect the game though. I'm guessing since it makes mention of "Puzzle Difficulty", that maybe it affects the Lore game, or something else too. Like I said, it's been several years since I opened the app and played it.

But I am happy and greatful that the game is not dead and the developer was still hard at work creating new material for it.

Oh, my recent quest is done, time to continue exploring and figure out what comes next.

toodles!
