Accessibility Comments:
fully accessible, one slight issue after selecting the story missions option is that if you flick to the right from the back button directly after selecting the story missions option you immediately land on the first mission of season 1, rather than the buttons for selecting what season you want to play. If you then flick to the left from that first mission you then find the buttons for the various seasons. also on the radio screen the options for the different radio seasons are not identified as buttons but are read correctly by VoiceOver.
VoiceOver Performance:
VoiceOver reads all page elements.
Button Labeling:
All buttons are clearly labeled.
Usability:
There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

#101 it's good on treadmills, but is it good on ellipticals?
Submitted by Ben Bloomgren on
I've wanted to get back into this game, but I'm the Olympic champion of runners... for the three towed sloth! Anyway, what's the experience with elliptical machines with this app? Being that ellipticals' motion is more vertical than running, will the accelerometer see the steps as steps?
#102 It's good for treadmills, but what about elliptical trainers?
Submitted by Ben Bloomgren on
I've been wanting to get more into this app, but it's 115 degrees outside right now, and I'm not bloody crazy! Can I use the app on an elliptical? Does the accelerometer see those steps as steps as if on flat ground?

I think you should be OK. You can always go on a supply run if you just want to test how well things are working. If all else fails you can use the constant pace mode though that obviously won't be as interactive.

It's getting pro worth it? What do you get besides unlimited access to the missions, instead of having to wait a week for each new mission to get unlocked?
#105 Pro Version
Submitted by DPinWI on
I do the pro upgrade just so I have full access to all missions. For that, it's worth it to me. There is also a training mission section where you can set up your own stuff. I think it's for doing the high intensity and then low intensity training thing. I don't do that. Supply Drops are also a pro thing, I think. Here, you use your local map to set an end point, and run missions to it and back. I have tried that a while back, and did need sighted assistance, so I haven't done it since.
So, I upgrade simply for the instant gratification of full access, and to support the developers.

the pro version doesn't give you instant access to all missions, it means you get access to all missions but you still have to wait for them to be published, I think if you don't have the pro version you don't get access to all missions, simple as that.

I have really wanted to use other tracking modes, as with Constant Pace you could just chill and listen to music and you could still get a lot of missions done.
How do you guys use the app outside? Obviously I'm not gonna run with it, Mobility skills would be out the window, what with the music in my ears. i do like listening to music with this app.
#108 Quick question, how do you
Submitted by KE7ZUM on
Quick question, how do you set up auto sharing when a mission is done, and can I share a mission to facebook afterwords? Let's say if I don't have auto share turned on? Love the game by the way. I just completed my first mission.
#109 disappointed in the zimbie link website
Submitted by KE7ZUM on
So, I checked out zombies link and I have to say the website kind of sucks in terms of accessibility. You cannot set your preferences as the items are all on one line, all of them being one big piece of text that can be clicked. I'm not happy with this. Over all the app though seems accessible, except I still dunno how to set up auto share if I wanted it.
Blessings and happy Friday

#113 question about volume of music and mission's clips
Submitted by KE7ZUM on
I'm a bit confused about something. I want my music to be about 45 percent lower then my volume of the msision clips. The slider is very confusing. I tweeted @zpmbiesrungame but they have not responded. Help?

Thanks to all of those who answered my question about Zombies Run. Normally I would have thought to try the 3 finger swipe. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks again.
#115 customizing work outs
Submitted by KE7ZUM on
Well, I tried to figure this out and read the FAQ on this. I cannot customize work outs under that part of the missions thing. You are supposed to be able to do this but I cannot figure out how to do this with voiceover. I did email them so hopefully they get hold of me with some hints.
#116 heard from zombies run staff
Submitted by KE7ZUM on
I just heard from zombies run regarding my questions on the work outs. They do say it is not ideal for voiceover users so will look into a change. I guess for now I'll do the missions. I'm not quite ready to do anything else. I want a challenge but not more than what I can handle.

#121 Okay I've tried the game out
Submitted by dark on
Okay I've tried the game out runnin on a mini trampoline and I like the look of things so far. With the phone in my pocket and at least a guesstimation of my stride length it seems to be tracking me fine, but I do have some questions.
First, I assume that notifications work even when the phone is locked? since it'd be nice to know how I'm doing in terms of distance and time.
Second, what exactly do you get for pro membership? I like the idea of customising zombie chases, though as the first mission I ran I had chases off I need to try these and see how they work, but what else do you get? I certainly like the idea of more missions etc, though the 5k training running programs and the like probably are not what I'm looking for at the moment.
Then, one thing I did wonder, is could I use the supply drop missions whilst weight training? What I mean is, if I started the mission and listened to the intro, set the pace on constant, then did my weights and ended the run.
that would make routines a bit more fun and get me supplies for building up my base too.
Speaking of building up the base, I also wonder about those other adventures like volcano race and racing through the solar system etc. Do these work like the zombie missions, but with different stories? and do you get the same supplies and so on for them?
sorry for all the questions, any help much appreciatedd.
I think this is going to be a lot of fun.
