µBrowser: Watch Web Browser

Category

Description of App

µBrowser is the micro browser for your Apple Watch. µBrowser is the quick way to do some basic browsing on your Apple Watch when it is necessary. While it is limited it is good way to browse the web when you have no other device around. Features: - Open any URL (Entering a URL works especially good with the new Series 7 keyboard) - Search the web with DuckDuckGo - See your last visited pages - Save pages from the history to your favorites - iOS companion app to manage bookmarks - Complications to quickly access the browser from the watch face Please note: µBrowser is a limited browsing experience. At first it is limited by the device size. Then there are limitations regarding Javascript and large webpages. Login on pages will most likely not work. There is no back button (swiping still works) you need to start a new sessions.

I have the Apple Watch SE 2nd gen, my first Apple Watch ever. At the time of this post, I've owned this watch for about a day and a half. I learned how to use it thanks to the AppleVis podcasts, but a lot of them are very outdated, as Apple has significantly changed a lot of the layout and there are brand new features. That's not criticizing AppleVis, in fact, that's how I mastered most of the OS so quickly.

Hi AppleVi’s members
I was just wondering how will this app be useful on a day to day basis?
I couldn’t think about a time where I need to browse the web quickly and wanted to use my watch for that.
Let’s say I want to find a definition of a word I can do 2 things
1. Search Google with my iPhone
2. Simply ask Siri on my watch
I definitely won’t be fumbling with my watch to find the word on this micro browser app.
So I have no idea how is it that useful.
Furthermore, the app even requires a payment to download.
The only reason I could think about when this app is useful is when you’re outside without your iPhone, and you have a cellular watch you’re playing music with the watch and you suddenly do not know what a particular word in the lyrics of the song means you then could use your watch to search online.
Another scenario is that you are tracking a score of a on going match and the scores are being updated on a particular website you could monitor it that way but in recent updates watches already support live activities. So…
Anyways, this is just my opinion of such applications. Do you agree with me?
Looking forwards to your views as well!
