How to Update

iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 are available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update), via Finder on a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, or via iTunes on a PC or Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier.

Before updating, we strongly recommend making a full and complete backup of your device (either locally or in iCloud, depending on personal preference). This will ensure that, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong during the update process, you will have a current backup on hand in case a device restore becomes necessary. Also, if using OTA update, we recommend plugging your device into a power source for the duration of the download/installation process, so as to prevent the unlikely event of your battery going dead during the update.

• Flash for alerts in Accessibility Settings offers the additional option to have the device screen flash when you receive a notification

So, what is the difference between this, and the 'LED Flash for Alerts' found in Settings, Accessibility, Audio & Visual?

Production update on a Friday? They must be really confident in the stability of the software!

So, what is the difference between this, and the 'LED Flash for Alerts' found in Settings, Accessibility, Audio & Visual?

The flash LED is in the back, close to the camera, or on the opposite side in the latest models, whereas the screen is in the front. The idea is that if one gets a notification, and either has the phone completely silenced or is just deaf, they can still see the screen flash if the phone is facing up, whereas the flash requires having the screen facing down.

I've gone through the reminders app and reminder settings, and I can't find the word urgent anywhere. I turned on the alarm setting but I don't think it'll work on its own.

Thank you for the clarification.

Same for now. I'm running 18.7.2 on my primary, but I will update my backup device to 26.2, as it's already on 26.1, so why not?

Reminder app has priority and flag options, which you can try

Voice Over focus in these two apps is generally nnot graite, and for me it's been a lot worse since updating to iOS 26. I don't really understand why an accesibility beta testa hasn't worked with apple to improve or iliminate these bugs, it does making typing things like emails not the easyest thing in the world...

I've updated all of my Apple toys. I'm not 100 percent definite, but I think that TV OS 26.2 may have fixed my issue with Netflix. It hasn't been accessible for a while now. Same is true for the Apple TV app. My phone seems just fine, as does my watch. The watch update took over 2 hours, but everything seems to be back to normal for whatever that's worth. For some reason, American Siri voice 4 still doesn't match on my watch and phone, and since that discrepancy irritates me way more than it should, I'll just keep using the male Irish voice for Siri. Maybe someday, they'll fix whatever is preventing the watch from using the higher quality American voice 4. It's extra frustrating because I seem to recall that iOS 18 was able to use the voice without issue. Oh well. If that's the biggest problem I encounter, then I'll consider myself very lucky indeed.

I'm a Chinese user, and ever since iOS 26 was released, VoiceOver's voices has been terrible. Although it wasn't great on iOS 18 either, everything is relative, and compared to iOS 18, iOS 26 is truly worse. Of course, today's update still maintains this status. So, if you, like me, use Simplified Chinese, you'd better not upgrade to iOS 26. If you've already upgraded, try not to upgrade to 26.1 or 26.2. For me, I had to upgrade because I just replaced my iPhone and couldn't use an older system. Well, that's it. I can't even remember how many times I've copied and pasted feedback emails, but this process will probably have to continue. I won't express any more negative emotions; I wish you all a pleasant experience.

My watch doesn't have any issues speaking through the American Voice 4 as Siri, and the only major version of watchOS that ever ran on it is is 26 since it's the Ultra 3 model that came out 3 months ago, so maybe you need to reset your settings or the whole system entirely.

Do you guys know where the new ringtone is? I just updated my iPhone SE third generation and there was literally no new ringtone at all and it sounds of haptic settings. I’m guessing maybe it never made it to the final public release? I know this is like super unimportant and the rest of my phone seems to be functioning correctly, but I was just wondering where it is because I like to play with those like just as much as I like to play with the different voices that we have available on voiceover. Just if anybody’s curious, I am using Samantha enhanced on my iPhone iPhone SE third generation and on my primary phone, which is an iPhone 15 I’m using Karen premium.

When you download apps on the appstore or update voiceover is still saying @ @ completed and all that ambiguous stuff
This bug was introduced in IOS 26.1.
