I am wondering if anyone has any good resources for getting started with Logic Pro? I know there used to be some resources like blind logic.com and icandothisthing.com but in my journeys round the internet today I was no longer able to locate those sites.
Any resources would be greatly appreciated.
Also on a somewhat related note I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for accessible audio editing software that lends itself particularly well to the podcast idiom.

Hi Greg. I don't know of any resources for this. What do you want to do exactly though. Edit sounds, and work with them, or are you more music oriented? If its audio editing... Don't get me wrong, you can do it with logic. But logic is not the best for this in my opinion in terms of sound design/audio editing. Logic's, as well as pro tools, primary function and purpose are composing / writing / mixing music; you can edit audio, but its not the best option for this, as I said before, its not its main function. If you are looking for audio editing software, apps like Audacity, or amadeus pro. If your more into music composing though and not sound design/ audio editing... go with logic. It all depends on what is your focus. Also, amadeus lends itself perfectly to the podcast idium. Audacity... Its good, but I don't know for sure how accessible its now. Amadeus, though, is accessible completely, apart from the panning fuction found in the app, but you can just use a panning plugin instead for this. If you need more info and help with amadeus, feel free to contact me. Also, a good app, not for audio editing, but for recording stuff, such as sound from apps on your mac, plus more, audio hijack, it complements well to amadeus. I am essentially going down two different paths at this time.
I would like to start recording music that I compose (something I have always heard logic is good for in terms of accessibility although I have also heard that it is a much more confusing application then say ProTools or something like that) and also a friend and I are starting a podcast.
I’ve heard about Amadeus pro for quite some time and even recall a podcast demonstrating getting started with it so maybe I’ll try that one. Would you recommend that over something like GarageBand?
I have also been considering audio hijack for recording system audio or Skype calls etc.
Sound design has always been of interest to me so I will definitely be contacting you.

I would defenetly recommend amadeus over garage band. As I said, for sound design/ editing of audio / recording, go with amadeus and audio hijack. I have logic, I compose myself, though I have barely scratched the surface of logic. only know how to record a track, and exporting... at least up till now. I can record more than one instrument on a single document, but I put it all together with amadeus. By the way, a good resource for learning amadeus, I can give you a hand learning that if your up for it, but if you prefer a audio book,

Different path
I am currently trying to do much of the same things you describe and honestly I just stumbled upon Ferrite studio which works fine and in my opinion much more intuitive than Reaper, Garage Band and all the other Options on the Mac I have tried.
On a side note i think it is just awesome to have my studio in my pocket with me all the time as it runs on the iPhone.
Maybe that is something you want to check out yourself.
