Hi Guys,
Is it possible to forward text messages using the native messages app using iOS 12.4.1? I've looked everywhere and can't find any way of doing it. Surely there must be a way. if not then there is a major failure here. I found an old post on here but for iOS 7 and it doesn't work like that anymore. appreciate any suggestions here as I can't believe this is impossible. Using iPhone 8.

from what i can tell...
From what i can tell, yes. on the message you want to forward, flick up until you hear "more," then double tap. swipe right until you hear forward and double tap again.
Thanks but
Hi,
Ye'h but that's just it I don't have that option. From within the text itself there doesn't appear to be a rotor option for actions etc. By simply selecting the text before double tapping I just have hide alerts activate and delete no other options.
Focus on the message first
Hi! I have never forwarded a text message myself, but I do know that the forwarding instructions above are correct, after a little exploration of the built-in Messages app in IOS 12.4.1. Before you try the forwarding instructions, you must open the conversation where the message you want to forward is, then focus on that message, then find the "More" option in the Actions rotor and take things from there. No selection of actual text is required, simply having VoiceOver focused on the message you want to forward should bring the right options to Actions on the rotor.
Thanks for this
Hi both, ok thanks. it worked. The confusion is that as Clare pointed out you have to be in the exact right place within the message not just in the message. Found it now though.
Wording misunderstanding
Yeah, the list of messages on the main or first screen of the messages app is just the various conversations you have. You have to drill down to the inside of that conversation and find the message you want to forward there. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is currently no way to forward an entire conversation, such that the phone would know to just send one message from that conversation after another until it reaches the end.
