Hi everyone!
I actually think this is my very first post here, though I've been here a while. Anyway, I'm a new Mac user as of last Thursday and I'm slowly starting the process of being as comfortable with my Mac as I am with my windows computer (which I've used for most of my tech life). One thing I really like about windows is the ability to turn off the trackpad. The way I tend to type, I was always bumping the trackpad and getting out of my document or getting into things accidentally.
Now with my Mac, the same thing is happening. The only problem is the trackpad is something I use pretty regularly with Trackpad commander. So my question is, is there a way to easily toggle the trackpad on and off while Im typing?

The track bad commander
Hi Raven,
Yes, you can turn off the track bad commander easily, and here is how.
Press and hold on VOkeys, while you are holding the VOkeys rotate counter clockwise, and if you would like to turn it back on, just do the same step but rotate clockwise.
Best,

Trackpad Issue
Power
Sorry if this seems stupid, but you can also change the hardware switch position at the rear of the track pad.
Bluetooth
Sorry if this also seems stupid, but if you press vo-m twice, arrow over to bluetooth, press vo-spacebar, and arrow down to magic track pad, arrow right once, arrow down once, and press vo-spacebar, you can disconnect the track pad. You can then reconnect it again by repating these steps. Personally, I just pick up my track pad and put it out of reach whenever I don't want to risk accidentally touching it, but to each their own.
