Hello all!
I’m experiencing a bug with the Facebook app and I’m wondering if anyone else on here has experienced it too. I’m thinking about trying a workaround.
I’m running the latest version of the Facebook app on the latest version of iPadOS on an iPad seven. The bug is, that when I go to click on the view post button for a post that I shared to my page from a group, that button does not work with voiceover. Once voiceover is deactivated, the button works.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m getting ready to report the bug in the hopes that it gets fixed.
Also, I’m thinking about trying a work around. But I want to see if anyone else has tried it first to see if it will be worth it. What I’m thinking of doing, is going to the Facebook website, and trying to view the post that way. And I have the Facebook app open also, and then for example if somebody comments on a post that I shared from a group, then my memory can be refreshed on which post they’re commenting on.
Any help and answers that you guys can give is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance! :-)

not sure this is same problem, but...
The latest version of the FB app seems to be seriously broken. Until this most recent update, I could scroll through my news feed and double tap on any post that I wanted to comment on or read more in depth. Now, double tapping on a post does nothing. You can flick up and down for actions, but none of those simply open the post for viewing comments or whatever. Hoping FB fixes this very soon as it seems like one of the most essensial functions of the app. Honestly, I wonder why FB, and some other apps need to be updated on such a continual basis. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yet, they seem to do the opposite. If things are working, they seemingly must break them. Hoping that whatever is going on, they straighten it out really soon.
I’m with you
Hello! I haven’t had that problem! I hope I didn’t just jinx myself! LOL another post from another user who said they can’t view comments that have mentions in them. And that problem seemingly hasn’t come up for me yet either.
I have the same feeling that you do. I just submitted a report to Facebook Accessibility with my problem. And I’m with you on it being an essential function of the app. Why would you break that of all things?
I’m hoping things get straightened out here soon too. And I do agree with you on the updates. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I understand apps need updating. But I’m with you on the frequency. Maybe once a month update. Or maybe something a little less frequent.
Or maybe Facebook just needs to make a new Facebook app, that’s designed specifically for people who use assistive technology. That way, the mainstream users can have their app, and then any features that they want to implement across Facebook, can get tried on the regular Facebook app, before they get tried on the accessible Facebook app version.
