Hey all. I know the bug and problem reports are necessary, but let's have a bit of fun too. What new things do you like about iOS and iPad OS 14? Accessibility features? Mainstream features? Apps with new features? Has anything changed the way you use your device or is there something tiny you've noticed? To start this, here are some of mine. Feel free to laugh if any of these were there in earlier versions, I don't always explore as much for point releases, ☺️
I can finally open links attached to tasks in the Reminders app.
The run button has finally disappeared when running Shortcuts from Spotlight or, and this is even better, Voiceover gestures. Now it really works to assign a gesture and have it run without further input, I've just created one today to start playing Podcasts which works no matter what else I might have already been listening to.
You can now open the top search result in spotlight just by tapping go or hitting return on your external keyboard which if I remember rightly is how the Mac's always done it.
I can finally rename Bluetooth devices from the incomprehensible gibberish manufacturers these days like to give them.
There are more, but I'll stop for now, ☺️. Anyone else?

Widgets, widgets, and widgets
The fact that I find myself checking for app updates several times daily - hoping to see updates that add support for widgets - probably gives a clue to my current fave new feature 😊
Okay, on a little reflection, Back Tap is probably a very close second, and will probably survive the test of time better.
I love widgets!
I love widgets! I made a stack with 4 of them.
Backtap is also nice. I just enabled it last night, and it doesn't seem to be as sensitive as it was in the betas.
I also like the ability to set your default browser and email apps, however, I hope they fix the bug where those settings get reset if your device restarts.
I love the fact that incoming calls no longer take up the entire screen.
On another note, has anyone noticed that Siri is a lot more finicky than what it was in ios 13?
VoiceOver recognition
For me, I love VoiceOver recognition. it helps in making images and other inaccessible elements read very well with VoiceOver. One such example is a karaoke app called Smule. unfortunately, the app is not as accessible as it was previously. now, with VoiceOver recognition turned on, Smule is now more accessible. I especially love the tone VoiceOver plays whenever you reach an unlabeled button or image.

Voice Recognition
Same as previous person. I heard that Apple might release iOS 14.1 today or next week. Widgets was OK but do not use so my battery does not go downn. Library is OK, Nothing much to write home about it.
THE one thing I like about…
THE one thing I like about the calendar is the keypad for inputting times and dates. I also like that about the clock, and hope that the timer will follow. All that swiping up and down isn't good for my hand. I don't have a newer phone, so I don't really get to enjoy all of the new screen and text recognition features, but I do get more than I did with IOS 13, and I like the tone.
What are the tones y'all are mentioning?
I am hearing some beeps or tones in strange places where I didn't hear them before upgrading. Are these the tones y'all are talking about? What is this feature? When does it occur and why?
Personally, I think widgets on the home screen is my favorite new feature. I like having my battery level announced as soon as I unlock my phone.
Emoji Search
Emoji search is by far my favorite new feature. Overall I find IOS 14 extremely stable.
Wigets also
I forget to mention vigets. I have a stack of 3 and I love it. Does there ixists 1 for app updates?
IOS 14 Misc.
I like the widgets on the home screen, the voice recognition, and app library. I currently have the weather and battery widgets on my home screen and like to have unnecessary apps and apps that I don't use much moved to app library.
A few things
Backtap is a really nice feature which I have used to make shortcuts to Voiceover and Magnifier. Speaking of magnifier, it's much nicer looking and easier to use, on the iPhone at least. It's okay on the Ipad, but I feel they could have stripped it down a little. I think special audio will be nice for the Airpods Pro once other services integrate it, although it both disappoints and baffles me that an iPhone 7 can utilize it, but my Ipad Pro 9.7 inch can not. Voiceover recognition is also really cool. Even in the magnifier app it works, and it's actually quite descriptive. It's text recognition ability is still very poor, but I have ENvision AI for that which works wonderfully. I haven't played around with Widgets or the app library yet. Overall I'm happy with it, despite some serius bugs which detract from the experience and which we have already beaten to death.
iOS 1401
Is out.
I love the new app library…
I love the new app library and the customization it offers. I don't have a newer phone so I can't enjoy backtap and voiceover recognition
My favorite features
I don't have one of the newer devices to take full advantage of all the features, but I do like the fact that we can now search for emojis. Also, this isn't a new thing, but if they get annoying, there's also a feature to turn them off completely so that VoiceOver doesn't read them at all. Hopefully in the future, I can upgrade therefore I can take full advantage of the others. Really like the sound of voiceover recognition. Overall though, pretty happy with how it works on my 7+
Image Recognition
I only installed iOS 14 on Thursday followed by the latest update, and haven't had much time to play around with it. But yesterday when I finished a phone conversation with my mom, I noticed some extra beeping. I didn't know what it was, so I searched on my phone. Turns out that it was some sort of built-in image recognition, which I don't think was present before. Additionally, there is a sound now for "sensitive content". I have yet to figure out what exactly this is. Overall VoiceOver seems even better than in the few previous versions of iOS I've had.
Braille Auto Advance
My phone is an older model, so I don't get all the new features on my device. But I love the new feature for braille display users called Auto Advance. Other operating systems & screen readers have had this feature for years, and it was the only thing that I hated about braille access and iOs. Now I can truly enjoy reading books on my phone without having to constantly hit a panning key on my braille display.
iOS 14.01
Well iOS 14.01 is not call unlucky. It works well for me. Now I VO is reading my notification. It does not tell me the time at the end of any notification. Do lose focus sometimes, hope iOS 14.1 fixes this but history shows that accessibility are not address ASAP compare to regular bugs.
A few things I like
For me widgets has to be one of my favorite features; too bad that this feature relies on apps to implement support. I wonder wouldn't it be easier if iOS just converts existing widgets from the today view into home screen widgets?
Another feature that I like is the emoji search. Though I don't use emojis that much in chats, this feature is very, very useful if I want to insert certain emojis.
App library is also another feature that I like, with this I'm able to hide certain apps, namely those that I've offloaded to iCloud. This solves the problem of me accidentally redownloading those apps, which happened quite often.
