Good evening, so I am going to be getting an iPad Air for Christmas. It is going to be the 2020 iPad Air. I am going to be using this as both an educational tool and a device for entertainment. What applications do you all use for education on the iPad? Also should I consider purchasing a Bluetooth keyboard for it?
So? If you have this iPad do you enjoyed using it?

Not an ipad user but
I recommend you buy a bluetooth keyboard. It doesn't need to be apple's magic keyboard, unless you can afford it. Mine is a logitech k380, it serves me well and I could fit an ipad into it's supporting base if I had one. The apps I use on my iphone SE 1st gen, which are available for ipad also:
- Reminders for reminders :D
- Drafts for when I have an idea and don't want to think much about names and stuff. Just open and write, think after.
- meet, drive, classroom and docs for their respective purposes. Docs has some annoying bugs but still useful for revising people's work.
- Instapaper for saving articles to read later.
- Notebooks 8 for more organized writing. Notebooks 10 supposedly solves some bugs present in this version.
That's it.
You will need to order one…
You will need to order one of these keyboard cases. I have always had one of those with all my iPads since 2012.
Bluetooth Keyboard
If your going to do any significant text input such as writing emails, taking notes, using iMessages, etc. definitely get a Bluetooth keyboard to use with the iPad. I am good at slide to type on my phone, but with the larger on screen keyboard on the iPad I find it difficult to type at a reasonable speed. A good quality Bluetooth keyboard would be a great help. As a previous poster mentioned I also have the Logitech k380. There are lots of options out there depending on your price point and what features your looking for. The K380 can switch between 3 different devices with the press of a button.
Logitech
Logitech has some good but cheap keyboard cases, I'll probably will buy one from them when I get an ipad. There are other brands with cheaper stuff, I would never pay apple's case prices.
Logitech
The prices seem reasonable and the build quality of the k380 is good. it feels smooth and seamless typing on the keyboard and is a significant upgrade from older models. I was able to get the k380 for $30. Since the pandemic started the price has probably increased a bit, but still a solid keyboard for the money. I would recommend it though for text input on the iPad or iPhone. The corsair k63 wireless is really nice too for a mechanical keyboard. Its more pricy though, not portable and only connects to one Bluetooth device at a time where the k380 can switch between 3 devices.
