Hi.
I've just noticed that there is a new startup sound in MacOS Big Sur.
Apple removed the on-board sound chip in the newer Mac computers which completely removed the startup sound. That result in blind and visually impaired people couldn't tell if the machine was booting up or restarting, which became a major issue because the newer computers don't make any noise at all.
Now, in MacOS Big Sur, Apple have made a software based startup sound. The sound is a modern digitalised version in great stereo.
The sound can be turned on and off by going into System Preferences, sounds, choose the Sound effects tab and find the Startup sound checkbox.
This is a really amazing feature in my opinion. If they can make such software sound which plays when booting up the Mac computers as soon as you press the power button or restart the computer, then they should be able to make the same feature on the other Apple products as well.
I will write to Apple Accessibility to request that on all Apple devices. Most Android phones gives a short vibration when rebooting. On the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple tv and other products than the Mac computers, we get nothing. If you think that would be a great idea, then I hope you'll write to Apple Accessibility as well to request this feature on all the Apple products.

Point of Order
This may not be accurate the vey latest Macs (I have a MacBook Pro 2018 though, which did remove the startup chime), but there actually is a way to re-enable the chime through terminal from the recovery system. And I can say with some certainty that it is not tied the the operating system itself because I hear it even when my Bootcamp partition is set to start up.
A sound or vibration might be nice.
I'll ask apple accessibility about that, perhaps nothing will be done but at least we can try.
I've sent my message.
As I said; perhaps nothing will be done, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Was a thing in catalina
You could enable it in terminal, and no, you don't have to go into recovery to do so.
