Hey all!
I have a few questions for you about using Siri to create events, and if there's not a good way to do it, is there an easy way to use the Calendar app to create them.
I found out about ACB. webinars a while ago. And I'd like to attend some. While I'm on the mailing list, for what events are taking place that day, I've found it easier to look at my calendar with Siri, to help me figure out which meetings I'd like to, and can attend. They have a schedule of recurring events though, for weeky and monthly. My questions concern the monthly ones.
They have monthly events at for example, the second Tue. of every month at 2 PM.
My questions are:
1. Have you guys found a good way to have Siri create events like this? For example have you found a good way to get Siri to create a recurring event for say, the 2nd Tue. of every month at 2 PM?
Siri has created 2 weekly events with no issues, but when I try to have her create a recurring event, for the 1st Monday of the month at 5 AM. for example, she scheduled the event for every Monday, including next Monday.
2. If not, what's the easiest way to go about creating this kind of event with the Calendar app?
I usually ask Siri to handle events because the Calendar app is a little confusing to me. I had to try and create an event for a medication reminder when my power went out a few months ago during a windstorm. That was not a fun experience.
They sadly do not have a calendar that I can import into my calendar. I Siri creates weekly and daily events with no issues. It's monthly events that I'm having a hard time with.
Any help you can give is very much apprecated! Because you will be saving my sanity. lol
Because ever since I've started attending webinars with Hadley and Braille Institute, I've found being able to have Siri tell me a snapshot with what my calendar looks like for the upcoming week, or that day to be a huge lifesaver! Because not only does that help me not overbook, but that also helps me try accomidate a family member who uses the internet for his work.
Thank you very much in advance!

Have you tried the reminder app. instead?
I do not know how much help this comment is going to be for you. But for my monthly reminders/ tasks I create recurring reminders using the reminder app. Such activities like 5th of every month change Bank passwords etc. at 11AM I am promptly reminded every month at that date and time to do the task
No I have not.
I have not tried the Reminders app for monthly stuff like this. I’m going to have to give that a try! That puts a bit of a new spin on things. Can you ask Siri what the reminders are for that month? Like what you can do with the Calendar app? Like for example can you ask Siri what are my reminders this month? Or what do my reminders look like this month? Sort of like how you can ask on the Calendar app, what my calendar looks like for the week, or for the day, or for the month?
I have found it much easier…
I have found it much easier to just add events manually. The calendar app is confusing at first, but is pretty good once you get used to it. The only problem I've found with it is similar to yours, but if you double tap on repeat, there are some options that will more or less work. You can set an event for every week, biweekly, monthly, etc., but if there's a way to pick, say, every second Tuesday, I haven't discovered how to do it. For a while there was a way, then it disappeared.
What about custom repeats?
Hi! Yes, I do agree with the whole confusing part! :-) It definitely looks a little confusing. I’ll. I just went into look, and I seen something called custom repeats. What are these newfangled custom repeats? Will they fix my problem? For the most part, I add events by either, exporting a I calendar file, and Braille institute’s case, or importing calendars for discussion groups from Hadley into my calendar, or I just ask Siri to create an event if it’s a weekly or daily thing. But if you, or anyone else on here could shed some light on these newfangled custom repeat options, it might help me get a better understanding of how they work, and if they could solve the issue. :-)
The reminders App.
Hi Dawn: I use the reminders App to remind me on the first of every month to give my guide his heartworm and flea medications. I used Sirie to initially set this up. Said something like, "Remind me on the first of every month at 5:00 PM to..."
I'm a bit confused about the…
I'm a bit confused about the custom, because it gives the same options. I'm hoping someone will be able to answer that.
