I used Uber today and saw something very interesting. Now since they updated again, I hope this keeps being done. As my car was aproaching I noticed it told me how many miles away it was. even down to the hundred of feet left. I hope Lyft does something similar. It helps when you can't see the map that you can still know where the car is.

I noticed this as well
I haven't used Uber very much since the beginning of the pandemic, but I needed to use it last week while I was out of town. I found the distance report to be extremely helpful. I wasn't sure how it would react once the vehicle got within a mile. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the closer the vehicle got, the distance report switched from miles to feet. My phone vibrated once the vehicle arrived and stopped in front of me. The ability to know how long until a vehicle arrives has always been my favorite feature of Uber and Lyft, but this new ability for VoiceOver to read the distance helps me know with greater certainty that the vehicle is coming to my exact location.
I didn't get the vibration
I could've missed it of course but I agree 100% If Lyft does this, they can be on the same playing field. Now if only there was a way to request drivers whom spoke the same language as you. before i start a war, if I have trouble communicating with you, especially when I need an exact spot, that's a problem. I have respect for any human who is looking for and gets a job. but a lot of languages I do not speak and i have problems. I've been left in the middle of the street and five buildings beyond my own. I'd chance it but aligators are around. I'm not interested in being one's dinner. :)
