I spent many sleepless hours building my own text replacement list. It definitely speeds things up. I use a two character text replacement for my email address. Another for my wife's. Commonly used phrases are a snap. ilu for I love you, for example.
The only caution I have for you is to keep an eye on how many items are in your text replacement list. Like I said, I spent many sleepless hours building my own list. Insomnia. When my list exceeded 10,000 items, I began having IOS and MacOS problems. Tech support and accessibility couldn't figure out what was causing it.
Around 40 calls to Apple accessibility and Apple tech support later, they still couldn't figure it out.
Finally, a year later, I saw that I had exceeded 10,000 items on my text replacement list, and on a hunch, I deleted items until the list was under 10,000. Guess what? My IOS and MacOS problems went away.

Can't wait to listen to this podcast, and subsequently use this feature. Based on what I'm reading in the description, it sounds like a feature I'd use! I do have 1 question though.
Will these work with braille screen input? This is the typing method that I use 98 to 99% of the time. So, this is why I'm asking.

Sometimes, with certain emojis typed using a text shortcut, it becomes difficult to delete it using one finger left swipe in BSI. Otherwise works as expected.
