Weird search in google" message while using Microsoft apps

Hi everyone.

Since I updated to Monterey I'm having an issue while using Microsoft excel and word.

The situation is that if I'm inside the document page, if I press the downarrow VoiceOver says "search with google" and opens or moves to safari. Therefore I can't navigate downwards in excel cause every time I press downarrow it goes to safari.

It seems like there is a shortcut or something blocked in my keyboard configuration that keeps doing the same.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance

Hi Karina,
I have seen awfully strange things with VO and the latest Mac OS.
I found that stopping to interact with the current object sometimes helps.
Try the following:
Before pressing down arrow, stop interacting once with the current object.
Another possible source of error is any keyboard manager you may have installed causing the down arrow key to be remapped.
Lastly, have you created an individual VO activity for the MS applications?

BTW: I experience simmilar effects when working with the Mac terminal i.e. on the command line I sometimes interact with a text field suddenly getting into another application for screen review.

/Roland
