Hi there, does anyone know of an accessible chess app? i want to start playing chess. Does anyone use voiceover to play chess on an iphone? How does it work? Also does anyone know of any good chess boards for the blind? I have a board where the pieces fit into wholes in the board, but I find that they come out too easily.

Shredder and chess-wise
Hi. In the past, I have used Shredder and chess-wise on my iPhone with voiceover. If I remember correctly, either of these apps can be used to serve as a chessboard, too. Have fun! And let me know if you’d like to play a game.
Shredder Chess
In my humble opinion, the best chess app for an iPhone and iPad including support for Voice Over. Well worth the asking price £3.99.

Also, you can buy an adapted Chess board from ChessBaron.

ChessWise is another good…
ChessWise is another good chess software if you want to multiplay.
If you're looking for a web browser version, Lichess.org is pretty great for learning the game, watching live games, playing games. They even use the stockfish engine as well, so it's worth checking it out.
Quinton C playroom also has a chess table where you can play other people.
