Hey everybody hope you are well. Here is the problem. I do receive the notification from the mail app when my iPhone is plugged in. however, when my phone is in normal usage I do not get the alert sound or any notification. it like mail has stoped the alerts from reaching it when my iPhone is unplugged. Would somebody help me? Thank you.

I'm not sure, but as I understanding...
Ok. I can't recall EXACTLY how this works. So, if there's any mistakes or misunderstandings, someone please correct me.
So, email can be fetched automatically if desired. At a set interval or manually. Now here's what I found in my experience. I think it's explained in the settings in the Mail app. Emails will be fetched only when the device is plugged in and connected to wi-fi or cellular.
Now, if I got an email, it would come through. But the alerts would be hit-or-miss. Mostly, I'd just keep an eye on the icon, because I have it set to tell me the number of unread emails I have. So, when the number would go up, I'd open it, and there would be the email I was expecting.
I'm sorry I can't be more clear. I hope someone else can be more clear. Hope this helps, and good luck. Also, if I'm wrong about anything I've posted, on this, please correct me.
it's happening since IOS 15
yeah!
it 's happening since IOS 15
and in the IOS 15.6.
it doesn't fixed yet.
Re: Ming
O. Ok. I haven't noticed it being an issue. Because I have focuses on now since IOS. 15, and a lot of my focuses including the focus I have on practically all the time, silence my email notifications.
Honestly, I've just taken to having the badge set on my Mail app, and looking at the Mail icon to check my email. So, say I look at it in the morning when I first wake up and I have 10 unread emails, and then I look at it later on that day and I have 12 unread emails, then I know that I got some new email in between the time I checked it last time and checked it again. Then when I check and delete or move messages to the spam folder as needed, I'll check the badge again after that so that I can know if I've got some new emails waiting for me the next time I check my email, and if I still see 5 unread emails, then I just don't open the app. Unless I need to do something with an email later on that is.
Because I know you used to have to plug it in for any emails to be fetched. Which I thought was annoying because I may not be near an outlet every time, but I'd still like to check my email.
I kind of figured it out.
So, I clicked on fetch emails to 15 minutes. hope it will solve the issue
Notification settings for Mail
Try going to mail under notification settings. There are a few options in there that might make a difference.
