Editing pdfs in iOS 16

Apple Beta Releases

I am thinking that editing pdfs in iOS is impossible at this point.

Whether using touch screen or Bluetooth keyboard, there is no reliable way to actually input/edit information.

I noticed this as I was trying to submit a department of transportation pdf to an airline for air travel in the coming month.

No matter what I tried, I could not input any information.

Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe a third party app? What do you think?

Share Your Bug Reports with AppleVis

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

I ad well, years ago now, had to edit a PDF, an application for a camp. I used adobe reader in Windows, and used the convert to TXT option. wrote what I needed in the TXT document, and sent that document to the camp providers.

Your best bet is to convert it to a different format, edit it, and when you send it, send it as a pdf by converting it with pages or other app.

I have submitted a bug report. I would encourage others to do the same. The PDF is readable, it sees the text boxes and check boxes. All that is needed is a little tweaking.

I called Apple accessibility and they agree that it’s not proper behavior.
