Hello all:
After i updated my mac Book pro to Mac OS V12, i can not find a way to change my MAc HD to Read and write, I tried everything, but with no luck,
the Only Observation that i noticed,is that in the mac HD info, i can not find my user name, only system, Wheel, and everyone, while on my mac mini, i can find my User name, and i do not have more than 1 user, so what do you think may be the reason for this?
Thanks in advance

it is off now
I tern it off to see if this will fix my issue, but even while it is off, the problem still the same.
After migration
U r right, it happened after migration, should i do any extra thing to make my user an admin?
Macintosh HD permissions
In an effort to improve security and prevent corruption of system files, macOS separates Macintosh HD into two volumes, one for user data and the other for system files, the latter being read only by default. This, however, is designed to be transparent to the user and thus shouldn't cause you to have permissions issues.
One thing you could try, especially if the account was migrated, is to create a new user account and see if the issues persist. If they don't and macOS works as you'd expect on the new account, the old one has likely become corrupted. To delete the old account while preserving your files:
If that doesn't work, you may want to try reinstalling macOS, as that may resolve common problems caused by migration.

I don't think anyone mentioned
You are signed in a system administrator, right? Doublecheck to see which user profile you're using and confirm you have rights to change permissions. Your difficulties might have something to do with the rights associated with the user you are signed in as.
Just a thought. Smile. I get them from time to time.
Deleting User
Am trying to delete my user, but the delete button is demmbed, only add user is available,
and this is the only user that is on this mac.
Changing Permissions
How can i know if i have the rights to change permissions? is it a setting that i should check?
macOS requires at least one…
macOS requires at least one account to be an administrator, so if yours is the only one on the computer, it should be an administrator account. You can check by interacting with your name in the "Users, groups and login options" list, and pressing VO-Right-Arrow once. It should say either admin or standard, so if it says admin, you're signed into an account with full administrator privileges.
Also, regarding deleting a user account, you must first create a new one before the "Delete user or group" button will become available.

Mine is an admin
AM surI interacted to be sure, and yes, mine is an admin, for this account, so, if i need to follow your suggestions in deleting the user and insert a new one,it will not be an easy thing, because, I can not create a new user with the same name, this is the issue here.
Creating a new user account
I admittedly haven't done this process in a while, but from what I remember and understand about macOS's behavior, you should be able to create a new temporary user account that has any name besides the name of your existing account. Then, after logging into the temporary account, you should be able to delete the old one but opt to preserve the home folder in place, and then create a new account with the same name as your old account and home folder; macOS should then offer to associate your home folder with the new account.

did not import anything
I followed all your suggestions, i created a new user, and i deleted the old one but i left the home the same,
THen i Created a new user with the same name exactly as the previous 1, but It did not ask me to import my home library, and now i should configure all my settings again,
1- is htere a way that i can import all my settings / Home library to my new user?
2- why it did not ask me for that?
3- Again can not write on my Mac HD Internal drive.
ANy help will be highly appreciated
thanks in advance
Which drive are you trying to change permition in
Are you trying to change permitions on mac hd or mac hd data? If its on hd hthat volume is read only, as it only has files related to the OS.
Problem solved with apple
FInally i solved the issue, and it was my own issue, THe problem is that i do not know that in the new MAc OS, they do not allow us to create folders on the mac HD root, this is the all issue.
And now everything is working
