Description of App
TweeseCake is a light-weight, multi-purpose, robust software suite. It can either be controlled entirely without a window, or from a handy easy to use UI! Some highlights include:
Supports Twitter and Telegram.
Allows you to navigate your file system without ever bringing up a window, or in a very fast, no fuss window.
Customizable global keyboard shortcuts.
Very light on system resources.
Customizable soundpacks.
And a lot more!
The TweeseCake interface is quite simple, containing only 3 list boxes. One to select a session, one to select a buffer, and one with the buffer's contents.
No need for 5 different windows to keep up with social media, listen to music, or message people. It's all n one!

Apple script.
Hello.
I have several questions about this app.
1. Why does this app need apple script control? Voice over is able to read list boxes with out problems as far as I know.
2. Can we look at the scripts that this app uses somewhere?
3. The website of this app does not have any contact information on it besides the twitter user name. Why is that?
AppleScript answers
1. VoiceOver reads most list boxes, but not virtual list boxes, which is what the third buffer is. I think this was done to avoid lag, at least when on Windows.
2. What do you mean? If you mean what applescripts does it run, it's just using accessible_output2.
3. Read the readme for contact info. It has twitter, mastodon, and telegram.
Unable to dowload this app
Hi.
I tried downloading this app on my mac and when I tried to open the file to install the app it said that can't download this app because the developer is not Verified.
Do I need to create a account or what?
Download
Hi Kushal,
In such situations the solution is usually to open the file from the option in the context menu - I.e. press Control + Option + Shift + M, and select Open from the menu.
It’s the whole Gatekeeper thing.

hotkeys
Hello> I recently downloaded this app but am having a difficult time figuring out how to use it. There doesn't seem to be a list of commands or a preferences menu. ANy assistance would be appreciated.
actually there is a prefs…
actually there is a prefs menu, simply tab to the first table, arrow down or up to settings, tab into the second table and narrow your choices. The third table will be the stuff to change. As for hotkeys, option m will help you, a lot.
option m helps, thank you.
I just tried this and it totally works! The settings area is still not really visible and aren't you supposed to also be able to interact with this without having to enter the app itself?
How to Play Videos
When someone uploads a video to a Telegram group, how do you play it? Pressing return, VoiceOver says "downloading". Pressing space or return again, VoiceOver says "Opening" but nothing happens.
weird bug
So I downloaded this onto an M1 Mac running Mac OS 12.2 and when I tried opening it, it said "error: unable to initialize speech service." Ironically, it said this using text-to-speech. I left it there a while. I tried it again today, now on Mac OS 12.3.1. I've not run any updates at all. I got the same error, started typing up a support email, ran the app again to get the exact error message, and then it miraculously opened as if nothing were ever wrong in the first place. Anybody run into this? I've got apple scripts enabled.
issues with tweesecake
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have tweesecake running, and I have verified that the allow apple script is checked. However, I hear the tables being spoken, but arrow keys do nothing for me. I realize you cannot navigate this with typical table commands and seem to recall it working strangely like windows in the past, IE using tab and arrow keys to navigate the client itself. Any ideas? I am running the latest Mac OS. No idea if I'm running the latest tweesecake, and for that matter since I can't navigate any of it, I can't tell you how to get to the place to update if there is an update available.
Very very helpful
I love this app, am using it to control my inaccessible telegram
What a cool app!
What a cool app! I have just tried it and the concept reminded me of twBlue and the qube. That was a cool oportunity to return to twitter!
Anyone know where it stores user config files?
I've been using Tweesecake on Windows for a while and thought I"d set it up on Mac. Thinking that the configuration files are probably similar, I thought I'd move my 'user data' folder from my portable Windows installation over to Mac, however I'm not sure where Tweesecake stores its files on Mac. I looked in ~/Library, but couldn't find anything related to Tweesecake in that, or any sub-folder of ~/Library. I can just set everything up again, but does anyone know where it actually stores its config files on Mac?
Cannot Open
Hi everyone. I can't seem to install this app upon download. The message I'm getting is something along the lines of "this app can't be checked by Apple for malicious software because the app needs to be updated". I tried opening the app from the Context menu and it didn't work either. So I'm starting from scratch. I also posted something using the web interface for Tweesecake.
Reading tweets.
I'm confused as to how to read a twitter feed? I see the buffers like Home etc, but not sure where to go from there.
WON'T INSTALL/RUN
Very frustrating. I also get the message:
"application alert system dialog “tweesecake.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.
This item is on the disk image “Tweesecake-0.14.2M1.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 1:00 PM."
I have no idea how to contact the developer. I might have to set up a new Twitter client in order to even try to do that, because the hole reason I'm installing Tweesecake is because my Twitter client is no longer supported, and I wanted to switch to something that would work with mastodon, which I haven't yet signed up for.
