What an invaluable resource... there's so much useful information here I don't know where to start!
I've worked as an Apple Computer consultant for over 30 years, so getting around the various OS's isn't too much of an issue for me, as a sighted person!
My daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour at age 4 which subsequently took her eyesight from her, so now, almost 8 years later I find myself learning much more of the accessibility features on Apple products, especially as she starts to use iPads and very soon an iPhone. I've also had to quickly pickup using a Braille Note Touch + but my daughter is already far better than me at that!
I plan to give my daughter my old iPhone X and wondered if visually impaired users who braille directly on to the iPhone's screen have a preferred case for their phones, especially if any case would be a hinderence? Maybe there's one that helps you hold the phone easier as you braille?
I will use the search function to trawl through the forums for other advice, but getting some 'must have' app recommendations too, would be much appreciated.
My daughter is 11.
Thank you in advance.

Most of my cases are Apple's…
Most of my cases are Apple's own. Had a leather case on my 5s and first gen SE, and a clear case on my XR. Currently rocking an electric orange silicone case on my 12 Mini. All of them have worked well for Braille screen input.
cases
Hi, I tend to use either leather cases, or now with mag safe, I use the hard shell cases from apple. never had a problem with either. I also had a brain tumour at the age of 2 or 3 and became blind because of that, along with many other related medical conditions.
