Metatext is a free, modern, open source, and accessible Mastodon client.

Accessibility Comments

The app has a dozen VoiceOver router actions. Care has been ensured in VoiceOver focus, as well, such as returning to a timeline from a search.

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Other Comments

This app supports having multiple Fediverse accounts as well as a notification to let you know if your images do not have alt text.

New upfate

Hi,
MetaText had an update this morning.
The new version number is 1.6.0.

Followers and friends lists do not work properly. I can view the lists of people, however actually going to the profiles doesn't always work with VoiceOver on...
There's a workaround though. When viewing followers/friends, if they won't come up, tap the area on-screen after turning VoiceOver off. Then turn VoiceOver back on.

A bug I have noticed

I love the meta-text client. The only bug I am noticing is that sometimes when I search for users while I am typing the name in, I get a message, saying remote data cannot be reached. Or something to that effect. Anyone else having this issue?

Search bugs

@Firefly Yes I have seen this bug too, or at least something along those lines. I don’t think that’s exactly what it said but similar. Of course I can’t reproduce it right now when I want to.
The other bug I’m having is that I can’t search for hashtags. Hashtag search results are just spoken by VoiceOver as indecipherable images. Can others confirm this?
