Regarding the Ignis amulet, I've often wondered that myself as well. Maybe That's because going to the mountain can be optional depending on your choices, and perhaps the dispell ring adds more depth to the story in later parts of the game.
Also, even though timecrest part 3 is not necessarily about Ash, I think it will still be from his or her point of view.

By Joel on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

I find it hard to believe that ash will somehow leave the door and reconnect with us. I think that chronos is going to be the main character and it will be told from his point of view.

By cowbunny on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

We apologize for not being as active on Twitter this year. We've been trying to put all of our efforts into Timecrest 3. When we have more to say, we'll be sure to tell everyone about it here! Thank you everyone for playing Timecrest and we are working hard to delight you.

By Gregory on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Has anyone made use of the wand in either timecrest 1 or 2?

Perhaps the wand is to be used in future parts of the game. Are their any more key items to collect?

By Gregory on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

What spells has everyone obtained through different play throughs? I've learned levitas and gravitas on different tries. I've also learned the fire one from the bomb. Apparently you can learn levitas magnis when the ceiling is about to fall in chapter 9

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

While playing through the game, I also got those spells. I actually learnt levitas Magnis from training with the dragon rider. I was totally hoping to get something to take back from the past. Also, on the discussion forum, one of the developers said that there are other quests besides the one in the nightshade forest. Apparently there is one where farmers need a water mage to help with some muffies but I have yet to find that path up to this day.

By Laura on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Has anyone unlocked the memories for A.C., Ryly, or Rodger? If so, walk throughs would be very appreciated.

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

The memory oracles contain short stories about some of the other characters in the game. To unlock these stories, whenever you play the game, you collect memory fragments in each of the chapters, and when you use a teleport orb, you gain a void Crystal. Combine a memory oracle along with a void crystal to unlock a memory. After unlocking certain memories, you can disenchant unwanted Memories into essences. Use essences to craft Memories you do want in order to unlock more stories.

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Wait you managed to draw from the bomb? Every time I do, I'm dead. So what's the secret the next time I'm in the forest on my next play through? I think I'm pn my forth right now?

By Joel on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

When it asks you how far you want to run from the bomb, go 45 m away. You will be far enough that you won’t die but close enough that you can draw the spell.

By Laura on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Woops meant to ask how to unlock the rest of each story. For example, when I open Rodger, I can read the first two chapters, but the remaining ones are locked.
As for the bomv, you should be 45 meters away to get the spell and avoid getting hurt.

By Joel on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

To unlock the rest of the story, it will ask you for a specific number of memories of that character. You have to get those memories in order to unlock the chapters.

I never got asked that, he just ran for 19 minutes. In fact in all the play thrughs I never got asked how far would I like to run. The prompt was "get out of there now.!"

By Laura on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Did you ask Ash to tell you more about the object or decide to just draw the spell?
In terms of the memories, i have gotten enough of the materials to open those, but what decisions do i need to make to unlock the ones that are still locked? I hope i am making sence.

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Well, Roger only has two memories, so when you finish unlocking those memories, you can choose to disenchant the memories you unlocked in the memory oracle shop to gain essences in order to create more of the memories you want to unlock The rest of the stories for the remaining characters

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 - 14:49

Good point. I already knew what it was so I neglected to have him tell me more about it.

By Gregory on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

Can I get the T-shirt for Roger? I did get the autograph

Earlier, in the game, when you get the chances to wander around Timecrest, go to the garden, and you will get the shirt if you decide to join the LSD club.

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

Whenever I read through the story, I am always convinced that there are more hidden paths to explore. I'm still trying to find the path in the garden where Ash finds the Twinkle Roses, or the scene where Riley shows Ash her sketches of various flowers. I'm also wondering if there is a way to attend the sale for Melvin's shop in Timecrest. In one of my runs, Ash said something about wanting to buy a set of Drapes for 10,000 gold, but I've not found that section as yet.

By X2 on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

Hi all, I had a quick question. I was wondering, how do you get memory remnants? So far I have like three or four but I forgot how I got them. Any help would be appreciated.
O and also, I don’t want to start a big argument on this thread but earlier, when I open the app, it said, visit chapter 2 to earn your next memory remnant. And before I got on Apple this, I open the app again and it said, visit chapter 3 to get your next memory remnant. So I’m wondering, is chapter 3 available? Or is that just an error? I even read it word by word to make sure I wasn’t hearing wrong lol.

By Gregory on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

As you go through the chapters, you collect memory Reminence that you combine with void christals you collect after using an orb to create memories. This is explained a little better in previous comments

By Laura Tosetto on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

Hi everyone,
I've been playing this game multiple times and find it totally awesome! However, in all my play troughs so far I never managed to get the special scene for Riley (you know, those scenes you unlock with relationship points). I was never presented with a possible response that had relationship points with Riley as a requirement to be able to choose it. So, dose anyone has any hints on how to achieve that scene? I'm really curious as of what happens in that scene.

By Laura on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

If you decide to go with Ryly to see Ezra, you’ll have the option to use a teleport orb or take the griffin transport. Using the teleport orb will get you the special scene unless you have already done it before.

By Laura Tosetto on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

In reply to by Laura

Thanks for the response. Come to think of it, I think I already got that with the teleport orb as you suggested, but I was wondering if there's another way. The scene hint in Riley's description in the relationship tab mentions a note in chapter 4. I got the note, but then I didn't get anything else, but there definitely seems to be another way to get the scene earlier in the game. Any clues about that?

By Laura on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 14:49

I’m wondering the same thing. Is there a way to look more into the room with the voldorian symbols on the door without getting ambushed?

We're pleased to announce Timecrest 2.9, a major update with a completely new soundtrack in collaboration with Dibur Music! Timecrest will continue to be 100% accessible. This update will be released in early March.

We're using a new feature in iOS called International Phonetic Alphabet attribution which allows us to give hints to VoiceOver on how to correctly pronounce the magical names, places, and artifacts within Alyncia. Because of this, we'll be removing the Pronunciation Mode feature of Timecrest, as correct pronunciation will be built directly into the text moving forward.

Check out the announcement details here:

https://www.sneakycrab.com/timecrest-notices/2020/2/10/a-major-update-with-new-soundtrack-coming

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

We’ve been delighted to collaborate with Darrell Reconose of Dibur Music to bring an all-new soundtrack to Timecrest with 24 amazing new tracks as part of the Timecrest 2.9 update coming in early March. We sat down to understand the creative force behind the magical music of Timecrest.

Read this great interview, and be sure to check out a short sample of Ash’s Theme at the end! We'd love to hear what you think of the song.

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

It's a free update. Experience 24 all new music tracks. We've also removed pronunciation mode in favor of International Phonetic Alphabet attribution for VoiceOver which allows us to tell VoiceOver how to pronounce the magical names and objects of Alyncia.

We’re giving everyone 200 Time Crystals to celebrate the update. Be sure to check the new Inbox inside the Pocket Watch after updating to collect them!

I know I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm seriously enjoying timecrest. Talking to Ash is like having a best friend right there by your side every day, even though he's from another world.
I've played plenty of Interactive fiction games since I was a kid, but this one still is definitely a lot of fun. I love the scifi and fantasy genres, and this game put's them both together.

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

@Lydia Alverson, your words are so kind and we're humbled by your response. We worked hard to create this adventure where you'd feel like you'd feel connected to a good friend. It's a delight to know our dream is coming true with you. Please don't hestiate to tell us your feedback and how we can make Timecrest better!

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

There have been several VoiceOver related issues reported by our community. We're currently working on a few updates to fix the issues. These are the currently reported issues that we are working on:

1. Volume is too low for music tracks

2. Music player has strange characters in song titles

3. Pronunciation issues, especially when using voice "Alex", for words like Chronos, Aion, Elise, etc.

4. Inbox descriptive help refers to Relationships

5. Inbox history items incorrectly are labeled as a button

We will be releasing updates to address these issues. If you find a problem that was not listed here, please go to Timecrest Settings -> Contact Support and let us know what you're experiencing.

Thank you so much for playing Timecrest. You are what makes all of this possible.

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

Phew! It's been a busy week of updates. Thanks to everyone who reported crashes, bugs, accessibility issues. Thanks to all of the incredible feedback-your feedback and reports is how we can make Timecrest even better for everyone!

We're sending a gift of 50 Time Crystals to all players to celebrate the release of Timecrest 2.9.4 which fixes all of the major issues with VoiceOver and the Inbox crashing. If you haven't already, please update today.

This gift should be available now in your Inbox. You can claim it from your Inbox until March 14th. If your gift isn't retrieved by that date it will be lost.

Thank you for playing Timecrest.

By KE7ZUM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

Wow, the music, just awesome. And I recognise some earlier stuff that was rewritten. I'm on my 5th playthrough I think, and just, wow!

By cowbunny on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 14:49

KE7ZUM, thank you for such kind feedback. Please tell us if there's any other feedback you have or if there's anything we can do to make Timecrest better for you.

By WellF on Friday, April 10, 2020 - 14:49

The only thing I think would make gameplay better are sound effects for actions, spells and other stuff. The story would be a lot more imersive IMO.

By Laura on Friday, April 10, 2020 - 14:49

I really like that idea. Maybe we could also hear sounds when creating memories and collecting money from Morty.

By WellF on Friday, April 10, 2020 - 14:49

In reply to by Laura

When I put other stuff I meant basically everything else. Imagine Morty making some cute puppy dog sounds when you open their window. I'm a big fan of sound effects for enhanced imersion.

By KE7ZUM on Friday, April 10, 2020 - 14:49

Anyone notice it says alis's name wrong when you are walking through the forest, when you hear thorugh like "system message: [alis leads the way through the forest]" or something like that, it sounds like it is saying somethingn else, at least with alex.

HI.
Keep good Work!
I enjoy timecrest really.
And I will try to finish timecrest and play it again

Is there a possible way to get gold more than once a day? Right now I’m kind of stuck. I need to buy the igneous amulet, but I would have to wait two days in order to get enough gold after buying a teleport orb. I can’t actually purchase gold because I have no cash right now.

By Winter Roses on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 - 14:49

I was going through a list of accessible games recently when this popped up in my recommendations. I was looking for games to recommend to a family who has a teenager who went blind recently. Out of curiosity, I re-downloaded this game to see what has changed, and the timers are still present. While I fully and completely respect the wishes of the developers to try to keep this game as realistic as possible, as the game progresses further and further along, the timers are going to become more of a nuisance in my opinion. If I do play games, it's for escapism, not realism. Apparently, I'm the only one who thinks so though. What I would recommend is to eliminate all the timers altogether for a one off purchase, perhaps five dollars, or maybe even more? if you choose to implement such a feature, for the initial launch, you could give the first 20 players to complete all three segments simultaneously access to the unlimited timers. You could also bring back the weekly questions and trivia so that more players can have an opportunity to earn that feature as a reward. If you don't want to charge to unlock the timers, you could say, if players complete all three segments a total of 300 times simultaneously, they will unlock the feature. As far as I see it, everybody wins. You'll get your money, and for the players who want the timers to be eliminated, they'll have the choice to do so. I know that some members of the community love the timers, or don't mind them, and I respect their opinion. They simply wouldn't take advantage of that feature. After all, you're not forcing anyone to purchase anything they don't want to. If a player who doesn't want the timers to be eliminated wins access to it by answering questions or trivia, they can politely decline the offer, and you can pass it on to another player. If you were doing this for money, I think you would've implemented this feature already since many seem to be asking for it from what I understand. However, if you're going to provide the unlocking timer feature four free after playing a certain number of times, when you initially launch the feature, you could have players opt into whether or not they would like to unlock the timers after that set number of times. If they decline the offer During the launch, then, they will have to pay for the feature later on, or continue playing the game as normal with all the other ways to cut down on the timers. This wouldn't change anything for them. Some players say they appreciate the timers because it gives them a break to go do some thing else, and I'm like, if you have something you need to get done, put the game down, and come back to it when you have the time to do so. It's not that hard.
Some of the timers don't make any sense, and all the other features of the game will still be relevant. No matter how you try to slice it though, the timers are most likely going to be a problem, if not now, then somewhere down the line. Unless you're getting a fair number of new players every month, or even every year, you do want to keep the older and consistent players active and interested in the game, especially since the updates to the storyline our years apart. On the website, I found this comment from the developers.
We have one document laying out the history of all characters going back to about 1000 years before Timecrest 1 began, and we have extensive branching documents detailing all of the complex paths that happen after Timecrest 1 begins, depending on what the player chooses. A single scene can be rewritten a dozen times depending on who is alive, who is dead, who you were nice to, what you decided in the past, what information you have learned, if you chose "distant relative" or "best friend", etc.

We have extremely detailed histories of every one of our characters, and know all of their backstories, their dreams, their hopes, their arcs, successes and tragedies.

The nice thing about the twists is that from the beginning, we had a clear idea of the story of Timecrest, and knew what Timecrest 2 and Timecrest 3 should be, the themes, the characters, the twists, and so on. It was intentional that we left hints in Timecrest 1 that would play out in Timecrest 2 and 3, for example talking about Ignis in Timecrest 1, the player's ability to use magic in Alyncia was not a random choice, but has always been an important aspect of how the story will play out. One thing we really enjoy is reading people's theories on the various mysteries we have intentionally left in Timecrest, and seeing how they line up with what the answers are in our planned story. Sometimes it shows us that we left too few clues, and sometimes it shows that people have excellent deductive skills and they'll be pleasantly surprised when all is revealed.
OK, that's great, but even if you have a wonderful game with an intriguing storyline, it doesn't necessarily matter if nobody else gets to discover it for themselves. The potential for the game to be amazing is there, but, as it stands, it's not at that point as yet, and it probably never will be. I know that the development team is small, and so it can be quite challenging to put out updates, especially in a timely manner.
In order to see the full dynamics of the game, it needs to be played as a whole, and even then, I'm sure you will still be making changes and implementing other storylines and features wherever possible and whenever necessary. I can respect that. Your dedication is admirable, but none of us are getting any younger. Do you have an idea of how many segments there will be, and how long it's going to take to implement all of them? As I said, tomorrow isn't promised to any of us. Perhaps you could implement a donation feature in order to speed up the process? You're not forcing anyone to donate to the development or production of the game, you're just saying, hey, listen, this option is available if you're interested. You could even set the amount to be given in a single donation at once. Lowest, $10, highest, $50. Obviously, these are only my opinions, and you're free to set the values to suit your purposes. I do think getting rid of the timers would encourage players to either give the game a try if they haven't done so already, or to continue playing if they are older players.
I don't want you to spoil the game, but I have another suggestion that I would like to put out there for better or worse. I know that there are currently six places in the game to collect pieces of Irillium. It's been a while since I've played this game, are there more places? Yes, or, no? I'm not asking you to provide the answers, only to confirm how many opportunities there are to collect this item in the game. Right now, we're playing the game blind, not knowing what to expect, and while that is exciting for the first couple of times, it gets old when you're constantly playing the same storyline over and over again. Ultimately, I want to know where to concentrate my efforts, and what to leave behind for now. You know what players have already found out, and what they haven't from reading the questions and comments over the years. I think it's better to provide a good experience for the players still here, rather than holding out for individuals who may never even give your game a chance in the first place, or for persons who play for a couple of months, then leave the game behind for good. I'm suggesting you post a Timecrest cheat sheet of sorts, but instead of providing the answers, you're letting players know what's available out there, especially for the earlier segments of the game since part three is more of a backstory segment for the storyline of the game. You could say, there are four opportunities to collect gold, six collectible items, four are key items, two are not. I don't want you to list what the items are, only to provide hints as to what is available. You could also list the number of achievements for each segment, and even breakdown the clues for each section. For example, there are two opportunities to earn gold in Timecrest one, four places in Timecrest two, and so on. When we complete the game, the achievements are listed, so I'm asking for the number of achievements that are available. When I complete a section, you could say, 10 out of 20 achievements completed. You could post this information on your website using spoiler tags, or provide them in the game when players log in on a daily or weekly basis.
I also found this comment on the website from the developers regarding quests.
The Timecrest Guild is primarily funded through the mission system. When the citizens of Alyncia want the help of a mage, they register a mission with the Administration Chambers and put up the reward. The Guild takes a cut off the reward and pays out the rest to the mage or mages that complete the mission. Some of the missions can be dangerous, like investigating the Nightshade Forest. Some of them can be simple, like they need a water mage to help with a farmer's crops during a dry season.

Most Alyncians hail Chronos as a hero who saved the world, and so to pay their respect, many also donate to the Timecrest Guild in support. But the mission system is the primary source of income for the guild.
I haven't seen any evidence of a quest requiring a water mage during any of my runs, is this currently available, or is it for a future installment? Are there other quests available besides the one in the forest? Yes, or no? I'm guessing that at some point we're going to get segments from the other main characters if that's not the case currently.
Anyway, these are my thoughts on the game for whatever they are worth. Best of wishes for this game, and may you find success in all your future endeavors.

All you have to do is go into your settings and change your time forward to the equivalent of the timer presented. No in app purchases needed

By KE7ZUM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 - 14:49

I'm not going into my phone's settings adn changin the thting to 11 hours 58 minuutes later. that makes no sence.

By Winter Roses on Friday, February 10, 2023 - 14:49

I wouldn't advise anyone to play around with the timer settings on their device. It could seriously mess up your game play, or make your device unusable after a while. Besides, that option is no longer available when playing this game. The developers discontinued the feature where you could play off-line, except for a few instances for this exact reason. Other players were having problems, losing progress, and other items that they purchased. I don't mind waiting when the characters are doing something, but some of the timers are completely unrealistic, unreasonable, and ridiculous. Even if they won't eliminate them altogether, at least reduce the the ones that are exaggerated for the mechanics of the game.

By Ekaj on Friday, February 10, 2023 - 14:49

I haven't played this game for a few years due to time constraints, but I have a suggestion which may or may not have already been posted here. But would it be possible to have both the original music and new music in the game? Users could just switch between these at will. My brother sent me a direct link to the game for Christmas when you had the original music, and then I think when the next version came out the music changed. I liked both sets, but I realize there's probably at the very least one player out there who prefers one over the other.

By Winter Roses on Friday, February 10, 2023 - 14:49

From what I understand, someone had asked about the music on their website, and this was the reply from one of the developers.
Unfortunately, as a 2-person studio, after writing the story, coding the whole game and drawing all of the art, (and responding on Twitter, forums, customer support, etc) it didn't leave much time for composing music. We found Andrew Riley who composes excellent RPG style game music from Lucky Lion Studios, who has a fantastic collection of royalty free music that we were able to use in our game. The songs turned out so perfectly, we're glad we didn't work to compose the score ourselves!
After a while, though, they decided that they wanted to create their own music for the game. Personally, I think that the developers could've left this update for a while longer considering that the old music was working well enough. They said that the music no longer matched their creative vision, and so they changed it. I think they wanted to own all the rights and mechanics of the game. Royalty free music is great, but the composers can change the license agreement at any time. Sometimes, individuals might sign with a record company, and it causes problems for the persons who previously used their music from a legal standpoint. I don't know how any of this works, but this is my best Guess where this is concerned. It's not a bad idea. They could simply add the older tracks to the music panel, and where you have overlapping songs for a particular section, the older versions of the music could be theme one, and the newer versions could be classified as theme two. Then players can unlock the music they want with gold from the game as usual. Also, there should definitely be a way to preview the music before making a purchase. I've turn the music off myself, and I don't know if the developers will ever consider going back to the old tracks, but for the players who want this feature, I certainly hope they consider this addition regarding the music for a future update.
If you're looking for irillium to trade for time crystals so that you can convert them into gold, I found this post on their website listing some of the locations where you can find some.

@Timecrest Fan, thank you for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. While I won't be able to address everything you have said just know that we have read and internalized all of your feedback.

We know that the timers in the game are divisive, and we've tried to strike a balance between creating realism and not being annoying. We hear you that while many players enjoy how the game is today, it doesn't quite land for everyone. It's also how we decided to monetize the game so Timecrest could be free and accessible to everyone. You asked about a feature allowing you to donate to us. Buying Time Crystals or using the Master of Time feature to skip timers is really the best way to donate to us. People who have bought in the past have allowed us to continue adding Timecrest 2 and 3 as free updates to the base game, and allowed us to keep increasing the quality of the game, writing, and updates. We're proud of how Timecrest has done, but at the same time, at this point we're still just a 2-person team working on Timecrest 4 and beyond, and we appreciate any purchases people make to continue funding development.

As for the music, you covered the old and new soundtrack very well, but I'll just add that we made a post where we linked to the original sources of the old soundtrack for those looking for it. The link is below:

If you're still playing Timecrest, feel free to join the unofficial fan made discord server if you haven't done so already. You can discuss the game in details, or win time crystals by participating in the weekly trivia.
