HEARD - the Plan B for memory

Category

Description of App

Turn your iPhone into a time machine!
HEARD is a ground-breaking app that lets you capture sounds from up to 5 minutes in the past.

How many times have you been in a meeting, playing with the kids or just hanging out with friends and family…and wished you could have recorded what just happened? Unless you’re a mind reader, there’s never been a way to see into the future and anticipate all those save-worthy sound bites. Until now.

With HEARD installed on your iPhone, you have a powerful time-shifting app that lets you customize how far back you want to go so you can grab that otherwise missed audio. The HEARD app runs silently (and seamlessly) in the background and ‒ with a simple tap ‒ the instructions / driving directions / jokes / stories / first words / laughter you would have previously missed are now saved and stored on your iPhone.

You probably never go anywhere without your iPhone, right? Now, with a quick download, HEARD lets you travel back in time from a few seconds (for free) to as much as five minutes (with the one-time, in-app upgrade).

With HEARD, the length of the audio clip(s) you save are completely up to you. The interface is easy to navigate and you only keep what you “tap-and-tell” the app to go back and capture as soon as you’ve heard it. Every saved sound bite is stored in your personal library…and then the fun really begins! You can:

• Replay previously-recorded audio clips
• Associate each clip with an appropriate photo from the camera roll
• Share via e-mail (using Quicktime)
• Post to Facebook (where permission and privacy settings are up to you)

It’s time to stop wishing you could have recorded it – and save it even after you’ve HEARD it.

Accessibility Comments

The app is very accessible. I very much enjoy it and its a inovated app which I personally find useful. The only thing is because if left on is running in the back ground, the batterry on your device can died out quickly though I personally haven't noticed it being to bad.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver, but the interface could be easier to navigate and use.

Other Comments

the support given by the developer has been outstanding. I have contacted him and he has replied to me promptly.

this is a really neat app idea. does anyone know if you can, after saving the audio, cut parts of that out. for instance if only the end of the audio clip you've actually saved can be retained, editing the beginning part of the audio clip out?

Hello: no you can't. what i do is save the file then email it to myself then i use a program to cut what I need. I did sent him a suggestion to maybe make it so that you could upload the clip to lets say dropbox. if you or anyone would like to write to the developer, I am sure it will be fine his contact info = Hammad [email protected] take care
Thats a wonderful Idea. what is a good prog for editing these type of files? I am a mac user I notice it says something about quick time?

When I try to replay something, it says my list of recordings is empty. Also, the 3 tabs are not read by vo. What are they for? There are also buttons called heard 1, heard 2, heard 3, heard 4 and heard 5. They don't seem to do anything. What are they for?
