Apple Beta Releases

Hi,
I have been having a bug on macOS 14 beta 1:
I am completely unable to type on my mac when voiceover is on, for example pressing letter h in a text field reads back “heading not found”
I have also noticed that the mac will then begin saying searching and then the app name, then announcing that the app isn’t responding.
Just wanted to get everyone’s experience of this bug, and if you don’t have it what is your general experience of the macOS 14 beta?

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

Do you have single-key Quick Nav on? If so, it sounds like the bug is single-key Quick Nav failing to turn off when editing a text field. As a temporary workaround, you can turn it off system-wide by pressing VO-Q.

Thanks for that, that’s a good idea.
Haven’t had to use my Mac too much lately, which is why I took the risk of installing The beta in the first place. That’s a good idea though, I’ll try that.

Hi.
So I have installed this software on both my MacBook and my iMac. I have managed to fix the issue of the single key navigation not turning off that persisted on my MacBook, but now I've run into a new issue where my regular voice, Alex, is only working in certain places like the dock, in navigation points like headings and land marks, and everything else such as typing or other items are read out loud by a different voice.
This is very confusing, not to mention annoying.
Anyone got any suggestions how to work around this?
