Apple Beta Releases

Apple today released its iOS 17 beta three rerelease. This is the version of the OS that will probably be used for the public beta.
According to some sources, nothing will be new probably in the new update. However if you do find anything new, please feel free to post it here as always.

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

It certainly didn't fix any of the bugs I've reported since the original 3 came out.

Nothing new.

Apple, usually re-releases the most recent developer version before releasing the public beta. This is normal and likely just includes backend security improvements.

Good day. I have been having issues navigating the feedback app. After double tapping new feedback if I swipe write on the screen I can only get to one of the operating systems ios and then hear the thunk. I need to swipe up with 3 fingers to see the others. This hapens in other areas as well. Love to hear if anyone is having issues. Thanks.

Well it looks like there’s nothing new in this release, I’ll wait when the next bet comes out and we will see how things go from there

Hello,
As of today, the public betas for the versions of the operating systems shown off during WWDC23 have officially arrived!
These releases are the same as waht those of us on the developer beta got yesterday.
Feel free to continue discussing your findings in the comments.

Do we still have to update to this public beta if we have Beta 3 Rerelease installed?
By the way, I also have some problems navigating the Feedback app. Double-tapping with four fingers doesn't take me to the top of the screen.
And another question: If Beta 3 rerelease is basically the same as Beta 3, and if the public beta is basically the same as Beta 3 rerelease, is it not necessary to update for those having Beta 3?

Well, apparently Apple already answers my question as to whether we have to update to the public beta, as I do have iOS 17 Public Beta selectable in the software update settings, but am still getting no updates even after restarting the device, which should mean my software is deemed up-to-date.
And here are some bugs:
1. You can't customize or tweak all the parameters for all the Eloquence variants properly. For instance, the buttons increase or decrease Shelley's pitch by 20, and Rocko's head size cannot be increased or decreased by 5 after some value. It should be 56, but don't recall right now. And you have several other problems like that. Increasing or decreasing Grandma's or Grandpa's values do take effect when you preview the settings, but not when you actually use the voices. And you have several such problems with other voices, including Sandy sounding like mutated or having severe problems with her throat. By the way, why don't we have sliders and/or text fields for these parameters instead?
2. Automations, and possibly also shortcuts, are once again broken. If an automation causing a dialog box (Sorry, don't know what to call those questions appearing at the upper part of the screen.) to appear is triggered, the question and buttons are not read out properly by VoiceOver.
