Mail notification sounds not working on iOS 17.0.3 iPhone 15 Pro Max

Did you check settings, notification and select the correct setting for you? Maybe is off.

Have you got Mail notifications showing either as banners, on the lock screen, or in the notifications centre? I had the same problem and spent ages trying to work out what was wrong. I noticed that when I switched one of these on, sounds came back, but when none of them were selected, they didn’t.
I would have preferred none of them to be selected as I used to have the sounds without Mail notifications, but it has got me my sounds back.
See if that solves your problem for now, but definitely worth emailing Apple Accessibility about this.

I don’t know either. It’s rather silly in my opinion. Why do they think we won’t want sounds without the notifications?
I did ask Apple if this is by design, and they did not confirm it but said that they would pass on my feedback, so make of that what you will!
