Hi everybody, I recently got an iPhone SE 2022 edition a couple days ago, and I have noticed a very interesting issue with the speakers, I do not know if this is normal, both left and right speakers work, and they sound amazing when the volume is all the way up , however, when I turn the volume all the way down, I can hear a faint and slightly distorted sound from voiceover and any other audio that is playing, I can only hear this when I’m in a really quiet environment, and when the phone is close to my ear, I just want to make sure that this is normal, and that my phone is not defective, any blind people who are reading this, or people who have really good hearing, please let me know if you have this issue

Not an issue
I have the same model of phone, and if I turn the volume down all the way, VO can very, very slightly be heard. It's far below a volume where any words can be understood, just the slightest whisper of sound.
Not an issue
Thank goodness, I was really concerned that this was an issue, not only can you hear it with voiceover, but you can also hear faint sound whenever music is playing, if for some reason it was defective, it would be really hard to get fixed, because of apples attempt to hurt third-party repair, I hope they don’t remove my comment because I said that word, but thank God, it’s not defective, I was worried for a second
iPhone 15 Pro
I have an iPhone 15 Pro and I think the volume issue does not happen. I have not even heard this issue happen but thank you for posting this and letting everyone know about this. I guess it’s just something with the iPhone SE generation although even if I had that phone and I was having that issue whether it would be on the iPhone SE or the iPhone 15. It would not bother me very much.
The very same issue occurs on my SE 2022 too.
I also have the very same issue where everything is heard as if you've applied some sort of compression or noise gate to whatever coming out of the speakers and you can only hear the small bits and pieces of audio exceeding a certain threshold. I may have reported that to Apple or posted about it somewhere on this forum.
Not an issue,
hmm, i’m guessing it Hass to do with apples new bionic processor, or the issue is caused by the sound chip/sound card, iPhones might even have drivers like windows, these drivers could include things like the display driver, the speaker driver, iPhones probably have system files, just like windows, except for these files are more hidden away, this issue probably is because of a unique design/defect with the sound driver, that’s only a guess though, hope this helps anybody
I have the same experience
Just another iPhone SE user chiming in; I have the same effect happen when I turn the volume down. It sounds somewhat muffled and distorted like a very bad recording. This is completely normal.
iPhone SE, possibly an issue
I’m guessing it Hass to do with a unique/defective design with the sound driver, the iPhone SE 2020 does not have this issue, it definitely does sound a little bit distorted when turned down all the way, but it sounds fine on any other volume, except on the lowest volume, no other iPhone to my knowledge has this weird sound driver issue
Agree with SE2 comment
I, too, have an iPhone SE2, and I do not experience this, for what its worth.
iPhone SE, 2022 edition
Very interesting, this must be an issue only that occurs on the SE 2022 edition, this probably does not occur on the SE 2020, and no other iPhone to my knowledge has any weird sound card issues
