Apple Beta Releases

Since there's no distinction for the releases, I'll post my observations hoping others have a few of them. First up Mac Os.

I have web pages set to use a tone as the page loads. We'll ignore the fact i forgot the keyboard shortcut to open the utility... :) In Safari, it reads out the percentage as either 0% or 100% I think trying to catch up with how fast the page loads. Second, is on this site, both form fields aren't being read correctly or even seen. Instead of navigating to the subject line, you're presented with the Save option. You have to shift tab to get back to the subject line. Clarification, navigation by form control will produce this, this behavior has been here for at least the last stable public release of mac OS. Of note, you can not edit your subject line as in my case, I meant the word these, not this but I wasn't able to fix it. to reproduce this, type in the subject line, then arrow or try to to find the letter you want to fix. There's a phony update, I'm running the latest version but system settings says I have one update. Now, IOS.

Dictation seems to be very quirky. I can sent a message, or sometimes write a Facebook post or comment. But i can't comment back, or reply to a message in the text field the normal way I use things. I'm running the beta of IOS 17.4 on an iPhone 12 also latest Mac Os beta of Sonoma.

Share Your Bug Reports with AppleVis

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

Note, the behavior with the subject line now being read by the arrows is present on Mac OS. This is dealing with IOS. Remember the dictation bug I thought, I had? Well just sent off two dictated texts just fine. I swear to all that is up there, it didn't do that before. Kinda like when you leave, you don't need to stop at the bathroom yet in ten minutes... Lol Seriously, I'd be interested to know what other bugs people are finding, maybe we can get a bigger reporting group, or some analogy I can't come up with until coffee kicks in to get apple's team of engineers to get to work on. My take is, they have so many operating systems, they'll have to try to get voice over and other products to behave better.
