Hi all!
Is there a way that I can delete unwanted email addresses from my iPhone? I'm using version 17 and when I start to type in an email address lots of old addresses pop up that I no longer use. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I've done it on the mac but not iPhone. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jim

"Remove" rotor action
I don't know if there's a way to manage previous recipients in bulk, but when typing an email address in Mail, you should be able to focus on a suggestion in the results list and choose "Remove" from the actions rotor, so it no longer appears as a suggestion.
HTH
it sort of works
Hello and thanks for the response. I am unable to select some of the previous addresses and able to select others. some of the addresses don't trigger the actions menu while others do. I'm going to keep looking into this. Thanks again.

Deleting email accounts
Hi,
If you are trying to remove Email accounts that you have on your iPhone mail app, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > (email account you want to delete) > Delete.
If you are just trying to get suggestions to stop popping up when you are trying to type an email address to send to, you may have to deal with resetting your Keyboard Dictionary. This does more than the title suggests, but will definitely clear up auto suggestions.
HTH. 😄
Got a Mac?
In Mail on macOS, go to Previous Recipients in the Window menu and clear the list. If you sync data for the Mail app using iCloud, I believe it should sync to your phone and thereby clear out the detritus.
As far as I've been able to find so far, there is no way to mass clear out the list on iOS. So I'm afraid this isn't much of a suggestion in the absence of a Mac.
I do have a Mac
I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the info.
