What did everyone thing of today's Apple keynote?
Good news: Apple Intelligence will be supported on the iPhone 16. This means I won't have to purchase the iPhone 16 Pro, a more expensive device (for many reasons, but primarily the larger display that I don't need).
Bad news: We must still wait for the long-overdue Mac Mini refresh. Where's my M4 Mac Mini?

Rumours point to October for…
Rumours point to October for mac and iPad mini/base updates.
I'm really interested in the AirPods pro 2 hearing features. I still think they are one of apple's best products, continuing to improve well after introduction.
Probably going to upgrade to apple watch X. I'm on a 7 and it's slow, and the ability to play audiobooks through the watch speaker is pretty cool.
Disappointed by the AirPods Max so called update. It's just USB-C and they are still charging way too much for them. When they came out in 2020, they were excellent, compared with what is now available, they are very over priced. There is no update to the chip, the ANC remains below average for 2024, no lossless option over USB-C, the battery is still well below average these days and no update to the crappy case. I can't imagine they are going to shift many units. The frustration is, the concept is a great product but now I can't imagine a V2 out until at least 2026. There one greatest strength, however, remains, I don't know of any headphone that comes close with its transparency mode. I think I'll be more likely to go for AirPods Pro 3 when they come out next year.
Hey! Ollie!
Great to see you again.
Yes, right after posting this, I did a search, and after reading a couple predictions for the Mac Mini for later this year, it all sounded vaguely familiar.
You're spot on about the AirPods2 Pro. I want to check those out and see if they'll work as a hearing aid substitute.
big things are coming from Apple
There are big things coming from apple in the next 6 months.
The new mac mini does sound…
The new mac mini does sound rather cute, a little tiny box. I'm not sure of the reasoning for the design change as miniaturisation is usually quite costly, but maybe they imagine it in dorm rooms and bedrooms where space is at a premium.
And, yes, it is great to read you too. I tried to be chill about the loss because there's no point putting energy in to things we cannot change... Still, it's very good for everything to be back.
Denis, what big things are…
Denis, what big things are coming? I would say they are on a rather flat iterative cycle at the moment. There will most likely be a new Apple TV box with upgraded chip, and then the iPhone SE4 in the spring. Everything else, iPad mini, iPad 10, etc are just spec bumps, same with macs, aside from the redesigned mac mini.
Everything seems to have plattoed with the Apple Vision Pro somewhat of a flop, or at least, premature. I don't think there are any forthcoming new product catogries and everything seems to be up to date, aside from a few chip improvements.
New things coming
New mac Mini SE 4, apple tv. The mac Mini is gonna be a nice device.
M4 Mac mini
My thoughts are on November, probably late or maybe even mid November But those are my opinions, I might be wrong. Like most people are.
