Read2Go books gone missing after Changing Phones

Hi, I backed up my iPhone 4, and followed apple directions, but when it was all done, I had the Read2go app on my new 5c, but no books. I think Apple ate my library ! :( Anybody have any idea what I did wrong? If I have to download the whole shebang again, tell me quick so I will be done weeping and gnashing my teeth before Sunday! ReadToGo bookshelf missing also!

Hi Sheri, I have had the same issue with losing my ReadToGo bookshelf. This happened yesterday evening when I set-up my new iPhone 5s. Interestingly, I have not seen an IOS 7 upgrade of ReadToGo come out yet so that might be the reason? I've also got the Voice Dream Reader app and the ReadTo Go books in that app's bookshelf are still there. I download some of the books I get from Book Share to there as I've got the full range of English speaking voices. I like to do what audio books do e.g. if I'm listening to a British book with a female lead, I use one of those voices and if I'm listening to a book which is based in the States, I use a USA English one. Coming from the UK, I find the USA based books far more interesting because I'm learning about aspects of the USA I didn't already know, even it it is a Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver or Tom Clancy! However, I believe this must be a ReadToGo app problem as the other app has the books from Book Share still there. It might be worth having a look at other audio or ebook apps to see if your bookshelf is intact. For example, Audible, iBooks and Kindle? I checked these on my new iPhone and the books are all there. These apps have also been upgraded for IOS 7 by the way. Steve.

Books going missing

Read2go did this to me a long time ago when I switched from the iPhone 4 to the 5 back in March. It does not do this when you update the iOS, just when you switch phones. It is a Read2Go issue, and you might want to report it to the developers. But if you don't want to do that, or even if you do, you can see what all you downloaded. If you go on the bookshare website and log into your account, you can click on my account or something like that and there is a link that says, my history. You can see everything you've ever downloaded on bookshare that way. This will be a quick way to get everything back even though it really is still a pain to have to do so.

Thanks, both of you: It was rather a blow since I had about fifty books all in a pretty little row... And yes, I was switching phones. It's extra sad since they disappeared off my old phone, too, which I plan to use as an iPod. The BARD books similarly failed to appear on the new phone, but there were fewer of them so I'm less sad! Come to think of it, it's rather a nice problem to have: when I was a kid, there never was a pretty little line of fifty books ... ever! So, if it takes me a while to build back up ... that's not so so so terrible.
