Hey everyone,
I’m wanting to know a solution to this, because this is rather annoying.
In Spotify, I sometimes want to listen to my own music. However, if I’m with, say, a cousin, who listens to her songs the car, I can’t listen to my songs at the same time,
If I try and listen to my songs, they cut hers out. If she tries to listen to her songs what I’m listening to mine, mine gets cut out.
So is there a setting somewhere to make it so we can simultaneously Listen to music at the same time, or no?
The account has Spotify premium.
Thank you for your answers.

Premium Duo
If I am understanding you correctly, then the only way I know to do this, is to have a dual Spotify account. This essentially let you have multiple profiles on one account, which allows family members to listen to different songs, etc., at the same time. More info at the link below.

Agree with above
If you are both using the same Spotify account, you cannot listen to different music at the same time.
As Brian mentions, you would have to upgrade to Spotify Duo. I have this with my wife. I had a Premium account and upgraded to Duo. If I remember right, she created her own Spotify account and I invited her in as my 2nd account. and Now she can listen to her own music on her own account at the same time as me and I pay a little extra for it.
I think there may also be a family plan which allows more than two.
