Hey there, I hope you’re all doing well.
I’m Mike Taku, and I’m new to this forum. My brother recommended it to me because I have a minor issue with my phone (an iPhone 12 Pro Max).
The problem I’m facing is battery drain. Whenever I leave my phone on standby or in sleep mode, the battery drains too quickly, losing about 10% in just 45 minutes. I haven’t found a solution for this, so I’d appreciate any help to solve it.
Should I consider changing the battery? The battery health is currently at 83%, and I read that Apple recommends a replacement at 80%, so I’m a bit confused about this.
Thanks!
Mike Taku.

Welcome and a Possible Answer
Hi Mike. First of all, welcome to AppleVis and I hope you enjoy your stay just as much as I have. Lots of great people are on here, and this site has been a wealth of knowledge for me. Now to answer your question, a new battery might be in order. Just one question though: are you using Low Power mode on your phone? I have an iPhone 14 but I think the same thing applies to all models. If Low Power mode isn't working for you and if your phone is new, perhaps a visit to your local Apple store for a Genius Bar appointment is in order. Others feel free to chime in here as well.
New battery is in order
Unless you plan to switch, the next best alternative is to change the battery. Things will only go downhill from here.
Agree
Definitely have the battery replaced. Your iPhone will thank you. 😎
What’s your battery health…
What’s your battery health at? If it’s above 80%,, scratch that, 70%, this shouldn’t be happening.
Replace it
It sounds like the 12 has a couple more years of support, so replacing the battery might be worth it.
I have an old, iPhone 7 that I keep powered down, and the battery drains ridiculously fast, even when shut down.
