Hi, all. One of my students is experiencing the inability to use chord commands on her Brailliant BI40X while connected to her iPhone running the latest versionof IOS 18. Pressing things like chord-H and chord4 or chord-1 do not move appropriately to the home screen, forward one item, or backward one item, respectively. None of the chord commands work. We can only navigate with the inner thumb keys to move forward or backward through items on the home screen. I called Humanware who passed the buck back to Apple, who has no idea. We have turned bluetooth off and on, disconnected/forgotten the Brailliant, hard reset the phone, etc. but to no avail. I have the same display and am running the latest version of the IOS but have not experienced these issues. And, the spacebar is definitely working on her unit. Any ideas of what to consider next? Thanks so much.

Try to do טהiס things
Try this: turn Quick Nav off by pressing Q+Space and see if it works.
If that doesn’t help, try turning off Quick Nav by first letter with Q+Space+dot 7.
If that still doesn’t help, try unpairing and pairing her Brailliant again.
I have the Brailliant BI 40X and would be happy to help with it.”
Let me know if you’d like any further adjustments!
Issue with Brailliant BI40X and iPhone resolved
Hi, all. It turns out that my student figured out her own solution which I had completely forgot was a possibility. Somehow, in the settings of the Braille display, disable Perkins while in terminal was turned on. So, when you turn that off, you are then able to use all of these standard braille display commands. Someone at Humanware didn't even think of this, so I called back and let them know. The guy I talked to this timedid know about this and I encouraged him to pass this on in case this obscure thing happens to someone else.
